This Week We Need 2 Talk Golden Globe Noms, Ripple, I Love LA, Merv, Survivor, Taylor Swift, Hailee & Josh, Little Disasters, Jay Kelly, Craig Carton back on the FAN, Dirty Martini's and Christmas Tree Hand Lotion
This week, um, we need to talk Golden Globe nominations, Taylor Swift, two episodes drop, and ripple a new heartbreaking show on Netflix. Get out the tissues. Cheers. See my glass? Good morning.
SPEAKER_00Good morning.
SPEAKER_01It said fuck this fucking day.
SPEAKER_00But it's a beautiful snowy day.
SPEAKER_01I know, but it's a beautiful snowy day if you just could stay in.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I would love to stay in. I'm supposed to go out.
SPEAKER_01Exactly.
SPEAKER_00I don't want to go out. Not into it.
SPEAKER_01I'm taking a break from all my dirty martinis this week. And I'm drinking the advent wine that Ed gets me every year. Oh and I know we say this every year. It's obviously over listeners, but next year, if you want to treat yourself or treat someone in good taste, is a great company. And now they actually have before if you liked a wine, it was impossible to get. Now there's links to how to get the wine. Oh, that was your biggest issue. That was my biggest issue.
SPEAKER_00So they listened to me, and so I'm drinking that in good taste wine, which is great. But I'm still thinking about that Nebbiola we had at dinner because I really liked it.
SPEAKER_01Oh, so good. I've been drinking dirty martinis all week.
SPEAKER_00I'm not a martini girl.
SPEAKER_01I feel swollen from all my dirty martinis.
SPEAKER_00I bet.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god, I just love them so much. I love dirty martinis and it feels like the season for a nice dirty martini. I feel like I know this already, so I don't have to be on the hunt for the best dirty martini, like we are on the hunt for the best shrimp cocktail, because I already have my favorite places. But I guess I'm on a hunt on Long Island.
SPEAKER_00Okay, because you have a city place that you love.
SPEAKER_01Well, I believe that Dante, besides making the I've heard that before. Yeah, besides making the best Negroni, they also make a great Dirty Martini and Bellamins in the Carlisle Hotel, which I go to once a year. I've never been there in my life. And I want to go to the Carlisle Hotel so bad to do the Frank Sinatra thing. We should go in January because it is a lovely winter, beautiful bar, and they have the best dirty martini.
SPEAKER_00I see that there's this guy that's been singing Frank Sinatra for like 27 years. I want to go.
SPEAKER_01I have seen him. It's amazing.
SPEAKER_00I'm up for that. I would get into something cool like that.
SPEAKER_01But you don't drink dirty martinis.
SPEAKER_00No, not really. I'm not a martini person. I don't like gin. I don't like, I know you probably love that glass. That glass for me is danger zone. I'm gonna spill that in a second. I love gin.
SPEAKER_01I love vodka.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I drink vodka.
SPEAKER_01I've been drinking vodka dirty martinis this week. Okay.
SPEAKER_00I don't like olives. Oh, God, I love it. Yeah, there's really nothing about a martini I enjoy.
SPEAKER_01That's unfortunate.
SPEAKER_00I know.
SPEAKER_01Matter of fact, one of my dirty martinis, I went to the Russian vodka room this week, and around the corner, Taylor Swift was at Colbert. Yes. She was great on Colbert. And I totally forgot people everywhere.
SPEAKER_00Oh, it's a zoo from what I looked at online. There were so many people out there. But I thought she was really, really good on Colbert, except for the fact that for someone who's so eloquent and speaks so beautifully, there were a lot of likes. And I guess I'm so magnified to when people say the word like because when I do our editing, I'm always taking out the likes and stuff. So when I listen to podcasts or when I watch an interview, I'm consumed with how many times someone says the word like. No, I get that. I just love her. I love her.
SPEAKER_01She's funny. She's funny. Like that whole book thing was hilarious.
SPEAKER_00And you know, there's this idea out there that there are these books by somebody called Willow Bowery, and everybody thinks that Taylor Swift is Willow Bowery. And apparently, everything she said about the books that she loves is the most current Willow Bowery book.
SPEAKER_01There's so many conspiracy theories. There's no way that her fucking fiance even understands what's going on. No way does he know half the vocabulary words he doesn't know. There is no fucking way. I don't really listen to that show anymore. His show.
SPEAKER_00No, I don't. It's too much football for me.
SPEAKER_01I like that part, but they're like idiots. Looney was on. He was. Oh, I didn't. I listened to some bites of it and just talks around it. He's so ridiculous.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he's an idiot. Okay, so her docuseries started, two episodes dropped, right? And we have to go to a party. First of all, Rich wanted to watch it. We watched it together. He did, and Ed was in the background going, This is fucking ridiculous. Rich loved it. Not only did he love it, weeping.
SPEAKER_01Crying. Oh my god. He's watching it. You know what? He's watching too many hallmarks the holiday season. She's believable.
SPEAKER_00But what it was very emotional. It was. I mean, she's so nice and she's so thoughtful and she's so smart. And just watching her create is fascinating to me. But she just gets off stage and she's running on adrenaline and she's talking about the show on the phone with Travis, and he sounds like an idiot on the calls, doesn't he? He sounds like an idiot.
SPEAKER_01So Braddy babe. First, I thought that they were gonna show before he was in the picture. Well, because she wore an eagle sweatshirt.
SPEAKER_00But she was wearing the eagle sweatshirt at the beginning.
SPEAKER_01In the beginning, I was cracking up, but then shortly after, she's on a phone call with him.
SPEAKER_00We didn't see any of the relationship. It goes from she's not with him to she's with him indeed. And she's saying I love you on the phone.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's really cute. Look, if we want to jump right into that, I'm glad the only two dropped. I couldn't be consumed with all six of them right now. But yeah, I thought it was great. Obviously, we followed her the whole time, but it goes back to that terrorist attack.
SPEAKER_00Which I forgot all about the terrorist attack.
SPEAKER_01That was terrible. And then, of course, it goes to her bonuses, and then you're starting to get to know some of the people, which is really nice. Yeah, it's that Mandy Moore. Oh my god. Yeah, Mandy Moore amazing. And then now my Instagram feed is that dancer who I love. He's all over my Instagram.
SPEAKER_00Of course, he's great.
SPEAKER_01Oh, he's great. And so it was her birthday yesterday, and so it's it's just been like nonstop, Taylor Swift. But I loved it. Now, when do we get the others? It's once a week for four weeks every Friday. Oh, good. I love that. Yeah. Once a week for four weeks. Yeah, it was really well done. And again, I'm sitting there at 4 30 in the morning watching the first one, going, I cannot believe I did not go to this tour.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we're losers. We are, but we're no, because we're what's a woman, Johnny, come lately? Ginny come lately? Where's Ginny come lately is to being Swifties? I know. And I just And I kept saying I don't want to take away tickets from someone who's a real Swifty. But now I think I might be a spectrum.
SPEAKER_01Well, I didn't say that, but I just felt like I'm going to a stadium. What am I doing? I don't like stadiums. Watching it, everything they put together.
SPEAKER_00It took two years to put that all together. And then I forgot that she released Tortured Poets during. Yeah, and then she so she releases that, they put a whole new era together. And then, right when she's done, she releases Life of a Showgirl. I forgot about the Tortured Poets.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I forgot about the Tortured Poets too. Everybody I know who went to the show, it's like life-changing. Yes, you don't have to like her, but she is on real. She's gotta be an alien. Don't you think she's got alien tendencies? They will have classes on her. It is an economic study. And the time, I can't even function. Like I'm talking about being bloated from my fucking dirty martine. I can't even function. She's melting wax on individual hundred.
SPEAKER_00It took her two weeks to handwrite the bonus. I can't take it. Do the wax stamp for everybody. I mean, right? Who does that? And write an album and have a relationship and manage all these dancers and her mom's there. There's just so much going on. She knows etiquette. She totally does. Also, I love that she said she orders everything on the menu for room service when she gets off stage and she gets in the bath and she has this whole thing. I just love that. And then of course she eats. And it's not like she doesn't eat. She does.
SPEAKER_01No, she does eat. And also, I love the cats. And the cats are so stupid.
SPEAKER_00And the relationship that she has with her mother is well, also, what we don't realize is her parents are also brilliant. The whole family, they're no dummies. They're very smart people, they're very financially literate people. They came from the investment world. People should want to be the mother because that is a good thing.
SPEAKER_01She raised a kid, man. Wow. And a relationship like a relationship. Imagine I'll send my mom to the meeting to buy back all my music. Really good. All right. So Taylor Swift on Disney. Now you can't get Disney if you have Hulu or you can't get Hulu if you have a big one. Whatever.
SPEAKER_00I watched it on Disney.
SPEAKER_01But I watched it on Disney and you gotta watch it, everyone. You gotta you gotta get in it.
SPEAKER_00Even Rich Karuba, who's not a Swifty, thoroughly enjoyed it and watched two in a row. Who would do that? Not him, but he did. And he loved it. It's actually really bonkers. It is crazy. He even said, I want to watch it. I said, Really?
SPEAKER_01Well, maybe he'll watch the wedding when they get married. All right, let's stay on football because my boy Josh is having a baby. Josh and Haley. I cried during that video. That video was so beautiful. And that's why I keep asking, where has she been? Right. Now you know. She's in hiding. Now I know it's.
SPEAKER_00She's been in hiding. That's why she's not going to any games. Chillaxing.
SPEAKER_01Oh my God. Congratulations to them.
SPEAKER_00Listen, I know they've got a lot on their minds, but I'm in the freaking fantasy football playoffs, and he's my he's my quarterback, so he better kill today because I'm on the bubble. I have a lot of injured players right now. This is my first time in fantasy football, and I made the playoffs, which is pretty good.
SPEAKER_01I'm in the toilet bowl. I lost. But yeah, this will be a hard game for him today.
SPEAKER_00I was thinking of swapping him out for my other guy, Matthew Stafford, but I'm sticking with Josh.
SPEAKER_01You gotta stick with Josh. He's having a baby for the love of God. All right. I think we should talk about the Golden Globe nominations that came out this week.
SPEAKER_00Now there's new categories. Did you see that? There's a podcast category and there's a stand-up comedian category.
SPEAKER_01Did I see that there was a podcast category? Now we have a goal. Yes, I was looking for myself in the podcast category. But don't worry, listeners, I'll be there next year. Yeah, we'll get there. Let me just say something about the podcast category for a second. I am serious about being there next year, but that's not what I was. I mean, I love Amy and I love her podcast, and I would love to see her win. Yes. But there's a part of me that is rooting for Alex because I would love to see somebody who is not a celebrity. Right. A real podcaster. Who made their money in things? In the real podcasting world. Right, yeah, right. Not like Smartless and Amy, although I'd be so happy if Amy wins. Right. And that even Dak, same thing.
SPEAKER_00I'm sure people do know he is an actor. But he's a good podcaster. Like he, I think, put himself on the map.
SPEAKER_01So in order for me to get up there, I need Alex to win. So that's it paves way for me.
SPEAKER_00She's our trailblazer. So that we can say we stand on the shoulders of Alex Cooper. She opened the door for people like us. Yes. See? See? I agree with you. I will say it's a little weird. Say what you will about Joe Rogan, but he's the number one podcaster in the world. How is he not nominated? I don't get it. Well, because of his politics.
SPEAKER_01Very few surprises for me here. I feel as though we are spot on in our recommendations to our listeners. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00If you're going with the golden globe noms. Well, it's nice to know the shows we say this should be nominated for something. Almost everything was.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I keep thinking this happens to me every year and every year.
SPEAKER_00Like what's what year? What goes to what year?
SPEAKER_01I was just gonna say every every year you have to tell me what goes to what year. But I feel like we did add a lessons already.
SPEAKER_00You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_01For the globes we I know, I know. And there was some Emmy things.
SPEAKER_00Submissions are different dates.
SPEAKER_01I know. So I felt like that was already gone.
SPEAKER_00No, it's still here, but it's back.
SPEAKER_01And then something as new as The Beast in Me or All Her Fall were already up there.
SPEAKER_00Right. Yeah. They just make it under the wire. Because it's I feel like the globes are actually a pretty close to a calendar year versus a TV year. So it's two different time frames.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, right. So as it gets closer, we'll make our picks in TV. Well, I'm a little pissed off. I was pissed about one things. I was pissed about two things.
SPEAKER_00Okay, what were your pissed offness about?
SPEAKER_01Well, there's three things that I noticed, and two I'm mad about, and one I don't care.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_01So the three things I noticed is that Catherine from the pit. Yes, she's not nominated. That's disgusting. That's disgusting. Yeah. But correct me if I'm wrong. She gets the Emmy. Yes. Right. So I don't even understand. How does that even work? Yeah, I don't understand that. The Emmy winner doesn't even get nominated. Yeah, that's ridiculous. I was annoyed that actually Wicked is a musical comedy. It's actually a musical comedy in that category and doesn't get nominated. That's ridiculous. Stupid. Ridiculous. Everything they put in musical comedies are not musical comedy. Correct. And that actually is, it doesn't get nominated. So those two things upset me. The other thing I noticed, but I wasn't upset because I don't watch the show, is that Stranger Things didn't get any nominations.
SPEAKER_00And I think I didn't even care about that.
SPEAKER_01But I think that's ridiculous. Half the population cares about that.
SPEAKER_00Well, I don't.
SPEAKER_01I think that's Wait.
SPEAKER_00Okay, but here's the thing Helen Mirren's the only person from Mobland that got nominated. That's crazy to me. Yeah. I was just so happy about Helen. The show wasn't nominated. Yeah, only she is. That's ridiculous. Also, nothing, not even a blip of Gilded Age, pissed me off to no end. They get no recognition. Nothing. I don't understand. I don't understand it either. I don't understand. It's insane to me. Claire Dane's not nominated for The Beast in Me. Well, he's nominated, right? But he is. Yeah, he was great. He won't win now because I know he's in the doghouse or something that I keep hearing about.
SPEAKER_01You know what the problem with her is like I think it's really fucking social media. I blame everything on social media.
SPEAKER_00I do too.
SPEAKER_01Because oh, she plays the same part and it's like whole. But she's still really good at whatever she's doing. Fucking chin wrinkles. Like it's all over social media.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, come on. And then the other thing, which I know you're gonna be annoyed with me saying, but way too much White Lotus. Way too much. Not everybody in White Lotus deserves to be nominated. The show's good. To me, White Lotus is not that caliber. It's just not. Now you're bugging.
SPEAKER_01I could be bugging, but that's not over the Gilded Age. Come on, man. You want to make an argument to me that this season wasn't as good as maybe other seasons? I'll take that, but Parker Posey, baby, all the way. White Lotus is a good thing.
SPEAKER_00No issue with some of it. It's just that it's this runaway train. White is for everything.
SPEAKER_01Sound like a phenomenon. That's what Stranger Things is. So I don't understand how one gets everything and the other gets nothing because those kids are old now. I don't get it. I don't know what's happening.
SPEAKER_00I'm really more pissed off about the Gilded Age than anything else. We're gonna make our picks wet. When when is the show? The Golden Globes is on the 11th, so it'll be before the 11th. We're gonna do our top picks of the year on the 28th.
SPEAKER_01Yes, and of course they'll coincide with the Golden Globes because people are listening to it. And also because we know our shit. We know our shit. More to come on that. I'm gonna tell you something. I'm gonna have a hard time with the top five this year.
SPEAKER_00Meaning not enough or too many? I feel like too many. I have to go back through my notebooks. I just forget.
SPEAKER_01You know, is adolescence is that was in our year.
SPEAKER_00I want to say we picked it last year.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's what I mean. Okay, good. All right, okay. Yeah, I gotta go back because now that you're gonna do it.
SPEAKER_00You have to look at what you chose last year and take it out of the mix because it does overlap in some dates. So let's go back to what we chose. You think I fucking know what I chose last year? You have to go to your notebook, dude. Oh, I gotta go to my notebook. I have to go to my notebook.
SPEAKER_01That's why I don't throw away notebooks. All right, fine, fine. Okay. You go to the proof. The proof is in the writing. Yeah, do you think I remember? You're crazy. The proof is right there. All right. So this show, I gotta, I have, I have to talk about this show.
SPEAKER_00I think you're gonna bring up Ripple, but if you're bringing it up, how was it not even on our radar? It was not in any notes. It was nowhere. And then all of a sudden it's in the top 10.
SPEAKER_01I'm too emotional to curse you out about it not being in our notes because you're misnoted.
SPEAKER_00I don't understand it. It I checked all of my sources, it was not on any of my lists.
SPEAKER_01You know what I think is really fucking funny is that not I mean, I don't even think it's funny, but I don't know. Like, whatever it is. Last week, you told me that Jay Kelly, which I finished, by the way. You told me that Jay Kelly was like a sliding door situation, right? You said that last yeah, sorta. No, but you said it, you go back to the tape, you said it, and then we don't even know anything about ripple, then all of a sudden it appears.
SPEAKER_00I mean, this is sliding doors, yes, but not the same way because it's about these ripple effects that happen because you do something, right? Or even a rock falls, somebody falls on the floor, meets the person, or whatever it is, gets hit in the head. You could say that sliding doors is a ripple effect, also. Sliding doors is I could have made that choice or that choice. It's only two choices, right? Right. Like this is a ripple effect of everything. I was cursing you to know Okay, so people, let me just say this: there's a show on Netflix called Ripple. It's eight episodes, they're about 48 minutes each. You will not recognize almost anybody in the show. No, no, nobody. There's one guy, Walter, that you might recognize and not be sure from where, but you don't know any of these people. It's in New York City, and New York City plays a role, which we love, but it's this ripple effect of things that happen to you and how you end up meeting people and being in certain circumstances just because of tiny little things that happen.
SPEAKER_01It follows the story of maybe five people that become friends.
SPEAKER_00Right. And all of them are going through really hard times. Oh my god, I can't. I mean, it's so emotional. You're being pretty much for half the show. It's draining and it's upsetting, but it's amazing.
SPEAKER_01And it's it's one of those shows, like right now, it's to be perfectly honest. Right now, it's way too fucking heavy for me.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's very heavy for me too.
SPEAKER_01But I finished the entire thing. Me too. What a beautiful story. It is definitely one of those things that after episode two, I said to myself, I don't think I can do this, it's too heavy, but you can't stop. You can dance it in these characters so fast. Yes, I could see people binging all eight right away because you need to know it ends with a crazy cliffhanger.
SPEAKER_00Like that's the end. All right, let's not tell anybody the end. No, I don't want to say anything because people, if you've never heard of Ripple, you all need to think about watching it. And even though it is very, very heavy, it's beautiful. It really talks about friendship and loss and love, and yeah, it's amazing. So well done. I haven't done the research. I just finished the show late last night, and I haven't done the research just to understand who came up with this idea and who the writers are, producers, etc.
SPEAKER_01But I I have no idea. I just finished it this morning. I was bawling my it has to make the top 10. I know that what's gonna happen. It's gonna be over this holiday break, people are gonna start binging it. It's impossible not to binge it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's just be prepared, you guys, and have major amounts of tissues with you.
SPEAKER_01So Ripple is on Netflix, it's soon to be in the top 10. It is definitely a stream it situation. No, it's in the top 10 right now. Oh, it is? Okay. If you don't feel like you can handle it, I totally get it. Christy and I are holding our own support groups, but I will tell you at the end of it, it just makes your heart happy, also.
unknownYeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00I know that you're gonna get annoyed by me saying this, but everybody That's the second time you said this on the podcast.
SPEAKER_01I know you're gonna get annoyed at it.
SPEAKER_00Everybody in it except for one person is really enjoyable to look at.
SPEAKER_01Oh God, you so annoying with that.
SPEAKER_00I know, but I do so like there's there's only one ugly person in the whole thing. I wasn't even thinking about ugly people. I was just so annoying. I know, but I'm just saying, like, you know what adds to it is that everybody is attractive.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god.
SPEAKER_00What about the fact there's all this stuff that Kendall Jenner was out with Justin Bieber alone without Haley? Do you think that is a sign of trouble? Not that they're together, but maybe she's like, Justin, we need to talk.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I don't know. No, that would be terrible. Okay, so one uplifting and one not uplifting. We watched Merv. Of course I watched Merv. Look, it doesn't even matter if it's good. Anything that has to do with dogs, we're I love it. Now we're totally in. So Merv was adorable.
SPEAKER_00It's got Zoe D Chanel. Yeah, it was adorable. It's got a dog, it's on Prime. It's on Amazon Prime. It's a movie, it's quick. Okay, so you guys, Merv's the dog. And Merv's depressed because his parents broke up. They have joint custody, so he's going back and forth between his two parents. And so to help him with his depression, they go to this dog resort in Florida. Is it real? Because I need to go there. I know, I know.
SPEAKER_01It looked like the best place on earth. We know this to be true, and I'm experiencing it within my own family. Dogs know, like they know. Oh my god. My dog and they go through depression.
SPEAKER_00Like it is true. My dog, Senna, she needs a therapist.
SPEAKER_01No, I'm telling you, it's so bad.
SPEAKER_00And you feel for them, you know.
SPEAKER_01You do. So I totally related to that part of it.
SPEAKER_00It was so cute. In my opinion, just not enough Merv. I wanted more Merv. Yeah, you need more Merv. Yeah. Yeah. Also, great name, Merv. I know. Great.
SPEAKER_01So that was cute. And then I watched one episode of Little Disasters.
SPEAKER_00That's I haven't gone back to it. I started it. I haven't finished. That's all. I didn't finish episode one.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I finished episode one. That is not light. And I can't. This was based on a book. Well, so is all her fault. It's the same kind, like same idea. It's dark, but I'm gonna continue it. Got terrible reviews. It got raked over the cold. Yeah. So I don't know. Listeners, I'll give you my review once I watch it, but I'm gonna watch a few more episodes, but all over every soul. It got hammered. It got hammered. Yeah, it got it got really bad reviews. So we'll see. Let's go back to Jay Kelly for a minute. Besides the fact that George is aging like a fine wine, I did not enjoy the movie.
SPEAKER_00Really? I mean, I told you what I thought about it. I didn't think it was the best thing ever, but I did like it. I just thought it was thought-provoking after the fact.
SPEAKER_01And I really thought Adam Sandler was amazing. Oh, amazing. I thought Adam Sandler's amazing. I love looking at George. He's fucking beautiful.
SPEAKER_00Wait, so can we talk about? Okay, remember last week I said there's this one scene that I absolutely loved. Can you take a guess what that scene was?
SPEAKER_01No, what is it?
SPEAKER_00On the train. When he takes the train with all the people.
SPEAKER_01That was a great scene. Yeah. I love that. And I still have not watched the Caprio movie, which did get nominated.
SPEAKER_00If you went to the movie theater, you'd spend 50 bucks. So if you have to spend $15 on Amazon, just spend the 15. Yeah. Stay home in your bed. It's three hours, so it's long, but it's really good movie making. Really good.
SPEAKER_01I'm definitely gonna watch it. I think that's the one of the only ones in the list of movies that got nominated that I feel like I want to watch.
SPEAKER_00Also, I never heard of most of the other ones. Yeah, I know. We're like behind the times when it comes to that. But I got I feel like I want to watch some of them, but a lot of them are really names I never heard of in any lists of anything. But didn't Timothy did Timothy get nominated? Yeah, he had that Marty Supreme. I'll watch that, but I'm not going to the movies for that.
SPEAKER_01No, yeah, right. They're so cute in their little orange outfits. They're just so cute.
SPEAKER_00I want them to have a baby.
SPEAKER_01I know they're really cute.
SPEAKER_00I know.
SPEAKER_01I know. All right. So I have this other dilemma which I want to talk about. Do you have any other TV you want to talk about?
SPEAKER_00You want to give us a survivor update? Survivor's so damn good. The finale's this week. Oh my gosh. This guy, Steven, he was blindsided. There were idols and there were advantages. And this guy got blindsided and it was glorious. But this Rizzo dude is still in. He still didn't play his idol. I've never seen anything like it in my life. That's amazing.
SPEAKER_01So we only have one more week?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, just one more episode. That's it.
SPEAKER_01Oh, we didn't talk about this fact that we're talking about reality. I watched five minutes. No, I watched more than five minutes, maybe like 20 minutes of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. So they introduced this fucking, what is she, 10? Oh my god. 10 years old. And she's dressed like Chucky the Bride. I don't even know what she's wearing. The fuck is she wearing?
SPEAKER_00Her name's Amanda.
SPEAKER_01She's born in 1985. I'm like, what is it? Why is she on here?
SPEAKER_00Kyle's just a disaster.
SPEAKER_01He brought Kyle's house. I don't know what happened.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And ripped up those floors, those iconic floors. She rips them up. I think she did that just for publicity. I honestly do. I think it's funny that Kyle set talked about she got a lot of hate on social media about it. Yeah. Fucking funny. And also Kyle bringing up her past relationship. Yeah. And admitting it. And admitting it. And it finally was great. And listen, Jennifer Tilly, give me as much of her as possible. I know she's fucking hilarious. And the naked man drawing was so fucking funny.
SPEAKER_01I just got to the part where they are about to see that they're naked men. But she is just as good as Kathy. Oh, yeah. They should have their own show. They should have their own show. Yeah. All right. Anything else you want to talk about TV wise? Because I want to talk about the Christmas tree scent.
SPEAKER_00The only thing I want to say is somebody out there, I don't know who you are, told me to watch a show called I Love LA on HBO. Oh, I have not watched that. Okay, there's no reason to watch this show. It's basically the show Girls, which we hated. Well, we we watched the whole thing. But we hated it. But we hated it. We watched every season and we watched every episode. Of course, despising it. This is the exact same show where, like, an unattractive person sitting on a toilet, like that kind of shit. But in LA, no different. Same shit. So whoever you are who told me to watch I Love LA, you obviously don't listen to this show enough. Because it's a bad recommendation.
SPEAKER_01But let me, first of all, just because you don't like something, it's terrible. Doesn't mean that it's bad.
SPEAKER_00Well, it does because I'm good at my job and I know what I'm doing.
SPEAKER_01Oh my God. Okay. Let's move on.
SPEAKER_00Oh, and I also, one other thing is I wanted to say congratulations to you because your boy Craig Carton's back on January 5th to the fan. And isn't that going to make you happy?
SPEAKER_01It does make me happy, but it's so much controversy around it. It's like funny. And of course, I'm in like a you know scoop chat with my horse, and everybody's like slamming everything. I am a fan of his. And I am a big fan of the guy that he's bringing with him who does the overnight. And you may wonder, how do I listen to the overnight? But I do because I'm not sleep. Because I'm in the car at 4:30 in the morning driving to work. And so I listen to the overnight. And he's really good at it. And it helps because we follow the same teams too. Like we're passionate about the same teams. So that also helps. But the people that they got rid of, like BT and Sal, they're actually pretty good, but they moved the tiki. But I'm excited about it January 5th. I'm excited to listen to him on the way home from work.
SPEAKER_00So that is I figured that would make you at least a little bit happier.
SPEAKER_01It does, it does.
SPEAKER_00Good. Okay, that's all I really had then.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so I love the smell of a Christmas tree.
SPEAKER_00I do too.
SPEAKER_01Who doesn't like the smell? I don't know. Maybe people don't. I don't know, but I love it. So I love when I get my tree, which I obviously didn't this year, but I always get a real tree. And oh, we don't have a real tree anymore. I have 700 candles, and I try to find the best one, the best Christmas tree scent candle, and I light them. And I so Ed, who has no clue that I'm I'm bringing this up right now. I don't even know where he is. Thank God he's out of here. He bought me a candle, which I have not actually lit yet because I'm obsessed with another one I have. But with the Christmas tree candle, he also bought me Christmas tree lotion. No, so it's like you know, hand lotion, like the one that you would keep in your bag. Yeah, but the people aren't supposed to smell like trees.
SPEAKER_00So I'm in the car. That sort of grosses me out a little bit.
SPEAKER_01I'm in the car with my friend Pauline, and she goes, Do you smell like a Christmas tree right now? And obviously, I could not stop laughing. I'm like, Yeah, yeah. And I realize that as much as I love the scent, I'm sure I should smell like a Christmas tree. No, and then unfortunately, I had a nice gesture. I get it, but I've gone. I mean, I'm using it, don't get me wrong, but I'm trying to like understand like where I should be using it. I no place I had to go to a funeral.
SPEAKER_00You're not smelling like a tree hugging people at a funeral, of course. So I oh my god, so I'm like, can't fucking smell like a Christmas tree at a funeral.
SPEAKER_01No, right. I don't understand just because you love the scent of something.
SPEAKER_00I love the smell of cookies. I'm not gonna put cookie lotion on me. I mean, there's certain things that you put on and certain things you don't. You don't put Christmas tree lotion on your body. I don't know what to tell you. Put it on before you go to bed, then use it up for bed. I mean, that's terrible. You can't go out smelling like a tree. That's ridiculous. I'm surprised they even make lotion that smells like Christmas trees for people. That's insane. I'm obsessed with it.
SPEAKER_02It's nuts. I'm so obsessed with it because I couldn't tell you why I'm obsessed with it. Because I'm using it. And I'm trying, why are you using it? Just to make him feel good. And I'm trying to figure out where it's appropriate to use it.
SPEAKER_00You know where it's appropriate? If you were getting a live tree and you were going to the Christmas tree farm, you could put it on to go get the tree. But since you're not getting a tree this year, you cannot smell like a tree. You know, I have a walking Christmas tree that's bizarre rolling.
unknownSo funny.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I just had to say it.
SPEAKER_00Who are these people that think that that lotion is even a good idea?
SPEAKER_01I don't even have it next to me, the company visit.
SPEAKER_00I'll make I'll make producer ed put it on the website so that more people can run around smelling like trees. Can you imagine? It's okay, wait. And by the way, it's a great Christmas tree scent, so I'm sure the candle's gonna be awesome. Yeah, but like whenever I come across somebody that smells delicious, I say, Oh, you smell good. Yeah, I do too. But the compliment is gonna be like this. Is that you that smells like a tree? I mean, it's not the same, oh, you smell delicious. It's you smell like a tree right now.
SPEAKER_01You know what happens to me. You just get go get your tree. What happened to me recently is I use one of those Rio de Janeiro sprays sometimes, right? And the one I have is a purple one. I don't know what number it is. I like the way it smells, but it can I I never really thought about this, but it can smell like a baked good, like a donut. And so recently I was out and somebody said it smell like a donut, and I was like, I don't know, no, but uh, it is made like that also could so now I'm like half donut, half Christmas tree. It's really fucked up. I'm telling you, it's not all right, that's all I gotta say.
SPEAKER_00I have a game. Oh my gosh, that's fucking funny.
SPEAKER_01Let me get the game on behalf of all my dirty martinis and the fact that my fucking rings won't even fit me today. It's we need to talk. Let's get dirty trivia. So I did true and false dirty, true and false about dirty martinis, even though you're not a dirty martini person. The dirty martini took off after World War One. True or false? How would I even know that? Take a guess, it's 50-50 shots. False. You are right. It rose to popularity after World War II when American palates shifted towards stronger, drier cocktails.
SPEAKER_00I thought the martini had to do with James Bond. Funny you say that because that's my next question.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay. James Bond famously orders vodka martinis shaken, not stirred, never dirty. True or false? Never dirty. True. False. He drinks dirty martinis.
SPEAKER_00He does? Yes. He does? Yes. He says I'll have a dirty martini shaking that's dirt.
SPEAKER_01I guess he does, yeah.
SPEAKER_00I don't think that's right. All right, we could fact check that. Someone needs to fact-check it. I've I mean, I've watched every James Bond movie a million times. I don't remember him saying dirty.
SPEAKER_01Let's go to the next one.
SPEAKER_00I need to fact check it out. Well, fact-check that.
SPEAKER_01Vodka dirty martinis gained popularity in the 1990s. True or false.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna say true.
SPEAKER_01It is also false. It rose in the 60s 70s alongside vodka's rise in the US. All right, true or false. The first cheese popularly used to stuff olives for dirty martinis was cottage cheese.
SPEAKER_00Ew, no. False.
SPEAKER_01Right, you got that one. Disgusting has to be blue. Of course. And the last one, true or false. A bone dry, dirty martini is a martini with no vermouth.
SPEAKER_00Well, let's see. It's called dry vermouth. So if it's bone dry, you're saying no vermouth. So I guess like the context clue would be that a bone dry martini would be more vermouth, not less vermouth or no vermouth. I don't even know what vermouth is, and I don't even like saying the word vermouth, but I don't even know what the answer is, true or false. I'm just gonna go with a bone dry martini means a bone-dry, dirty martini is a martini with no vermouth.
SPEAKER_01True or false? False. It is true. Bone dry means no vermouth. That's all, and obviously dirty refers to the olive bottle. All right, not bad. Not okay, all right. You know what? We don't need your comments. Sometimes I don't like your geese. You'll like my Christmas tree. I'm gonna send you some Christmas tree scent in the mouth. All right, everyone. The snow is out. Good luck tomorrow. We'll be freezing. Love you. Have a good week.
