SPEAKER_00

This week on We need to talk, Haley Swift. Last two episodes, The Letter of Man with Jason Bateman, and the County Crows documentary. What are you wearing? Some polka dots? Yeah. I like polka dots.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I love polka dot. It's like a Dalmatian look.

SPEAKER_00

Going with that vibe.

SPEAKER_01

Let's go with that.

SPEAKER_00

Alright. I'm not gonna say good morning. I'm just gonna say morning. This is Bergen Road. Beautiful. From Wakari.

SPEAKER_01

Nice.

SPEAKER_00

And this is my Pinot Grigio with my side of ice.

SPEAKER_01

Nice.

SPEAKER_00

So I'm double fisted. If you know, you know. My friends love you.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know what to drink first.

SPEAKER_01

It's a rough week, people. We're having a rough week. Let's just say it's been a really, really rough few days.

SPEAKER_00

It's really rough. And uh I'm double fisted. But happy holidays, everyone. Happy holidays. This will be our last show before the holidays. So we wish everybody a Merry Christmas, a happy Hanukkah. Let's get the fuck out of 2025. Yes, next week it'll be before New Year's, but we will be doing our top five of the year. Even though this year has sucked, there has been some good TV.

SPEAKER_01

There's been a lot of good TV. Yeah. So we'll do our top five, which I know you guys all love. And I would like to ask for a Hanukkah Christmas present for us, which is share the episode. I think people are gonna be looking for shows. People are gonna want to know hey, I'm flying or I'm gonna have some downtime. What should I watch? What should I binge? And I think our guide to the year that has just been is a great gift to give your friends and family that costs nothing. Cost nothing. It's free. Free gift. We'll do our best to do it with joy. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I'm gonna be so fucking jolly. I said this last week. I'm definitely struggling with what my decision's gonna be for my top five.

SPEAKER_01

I already started trying to put it together and I'm really struggling to wean it down.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I know. I thought it would be really easy. It's not as easy as I thought. It's been a dumpster fire of a year, but it's been some really good TV.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Which has gotten us through things.

SPEAKER_00

It's gotten us through. Not to mention this is gotten you through.

SPEAKER_01

Red and white. You can do your red and white. You know what gets me through? Pizza. Nutella pizza. You know, things like that. Lots of chocolate. You know, I don't like Nutella. I'm not a big Nutella lover, but Nutella pizza I eat.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, well, I get it.

SPEAKER_01

But I mean, I'm a dessert girl anyway, but I have to say, I don't even want to step on a scale. I don't even want to do it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, no, no, no, no, no, no. This stage in our life, especially this week, we are not looking at calories, my friend. My liver is not responding. We are not looking at calories. That is not what we're doing. Speaking of, I fucking hate, like I really hate the ugly sweater.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my gosh, we have that ugly.

SPEAKER_00

Why? I am not an ugly sweater person. I just am not. I am not. It's not in my vocabulary to have a fucking ugly sweater. I don't get it. Why would I want that? Why would I spend money? It's like a mocktail. I'm talking to the girl who bought like a Snoop Dogg guy, and you know. Yeah, and I got fucking robbed. Do you see my Snoop Dogs? The best meme I saw. I'm obsessed with this meme. I can't even take it like my own words because they're not my own words. My whole feed are dogs, grief, and getting out of this year. So I got a lot of dogs in grief. I got a lot of dogs in grief and getting out of this year. But one of them is like, I bought myself a push present, and it's like, no, I didn't have a baby. I just got out of fucking 2025. I've been buying myself push presents for fucking months.

SPEAKER_01

I definitely have been overspending and overeating. Definitely. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

Anyway, I never got that fucking snoop dog, and I'm really upset about it.

SPEAKER_01

But anyway, wait, wait, go back to the ugly sweater. What I wanted to know though was when did the ugly sweater thing begin? I was trying to figure it out and I forgot. I forgot to ask ChatGPT, my friend, where it started from. Because I don't remember as a kid anybody I know doing ugly sweater stuff. Me either. And then it just sort of happened. And now every year, at something, whether it's the town does it or my office does it or Rich's office does it. We have one ugly sweater. It's not really that ugly. And it's Rich's, and it's a holiday sweater with the ugliest car on the planet, a pinto. So I used that. Yeah. But like when I got to work and everybody was wearing their ugly sweaters, I gotta say, they were ridiculous. I just don't enjoy it. And also, I don't like that I had to wear it all day.

SPEAKER_00

I don't enjoy it. I'm not doing it. And I also don't want any of your fucking baked goods, like a cookie swap and a fucking ugly sweater. I don't want to swap shit that you made at home. I don't want it.

SPEAKER_01

Wait, can I just say something so funny? I'm not baking this year. Just so for all my friends who are listening, I'm not baking this year. But I make this thing called white trash. You know.

SPEAKER_00

I know, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And everybody tells me your white trash is sick, it's addictive, it's da da da da. And I felt guilty not making it. So this year at my office fake Christmas party, because it's the worst Christmas party on the planet, they did bring your own stuff, you know? Yeah, of course. So someone says, Oh my gosh, Christy's white trash is here. And I'm like, Christy's white trash is not here. I didn't make it because nobody had it before me. Somebody made it, and I and no joke, it was so gross that I spit it into the garbage. Do you so you don't know who made it? I don't know who made it.

SPEAKER_00

Hopefully, that person is not a listener.

SPEAKER_01

We she's sorry if you're a listener. She's sorry. No, I'm just no, you know what? If you're gonna make it, you need to ask the expert how to do it. You don't make it if it's gonna be crap. It was so bad I spit it out. I spit it, believe it or not, in New York City, where my office is, whoever ordered the pizza, they ordered 30 pizzas. I literally spit the pizza out.

SPEAKER_00

I know I'm not I'm not the white trash. I used to eat those peanut butter things you made.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, the peanut butter balls. I didn't make those either.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, those are good. Yeah, we're not making anything. We're just consuming. We are consuming. We're not buying gifts, we're not making shit, we're just consuming. That's it. Oh, and by the way, if you're receiving a gift from me, it's a fucking ugly sweater. I am not wearing an ugly sweater.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I'm not, I'm done with it. I did it, I'm done. No, mine's tomorrow. I'm not doing it. So just wear some, wear that polka dot thing you're wearing. I'll wear a polka dot. It's not ugly, it's cute. But for anybody here who thinks they're getting a gift from me, just so you know, it ain't wrapped. I'm not wrapping anything.

SPEAKER_00

It's wrapped. There is no gifts. I told you this. If you're over 10 years old, you are getting an envelope. That's what's happening.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, everybody's getting envelopes, but I did buy a couple boxes and nothing's getting right.

SPEAKER_00

And I've bought zero for an adult. Adults are not getting shit. That's it. I'm done. But anyway, very sad. Before we go into the jolly portion of our show. We're sorry that this is the last show of the year and it's a Debbie Downer's. Let's just stick on the Downer. They're very sad about Rob Reiner.

SPEAKER_01

I'm obsessed. Obsessed. Very sad. I'm so upset about it because he's been a fixture in my life since I'm a little kid. I watched All in the Family with My Family.

SPEAKER_00

I know.

SPEAKER_01

And so he was Mike Stivik, and he was something. And then so many of my favorite movies were movies that he directed. And so many of my favorite shows are shows that he brought to and it's just devastating. And all of this story is devastating. Everything we're learning is devastating. Yep. On the flip side, I can't wait for the miniseries.

SPEAKER_00

No, I know.

SPEAKER_01

I want the movie, I want the docuseries, I want all of that.

SPEAKER_00

And I keep watching his last clip of anything he's been in, was that clip of the bear. Yeah. And I I would love that. It was so good. And then also, you know, because Rob Ryan is such a huge figure, no one's really talking about Luke Spencer from General Hospital. Now I'm a days of our lives. I'm a Days of Our Lives girl, but everyone knows Luke. Yeah. So that was also very sad. So I'm holding up one red and one white for both of them. Cheers.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Yeah. Really, really upsetting.

SPEAKER_00

All right, now we can move on. Let's talk about something happy. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Well.

SPEAKER_00

Let's talk about Taylor Swift. That's so happy. What a happy two episodes I just watched.

SPEAKER_01

What she did discuss this time is that she was going through a very hard time at the beginning of the tour.

SPEAKER_00

And can we backtrack a second?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

This tour started when? Because it's been a really long time.

SPEAKER_01

Well, it's now it's now three years ago because the tour ended a year ago. It was a two-year tour. Right. It started in 2023.

SPEAKER_00

So she just broke off. 2022.

SPEAKER_01

Sorry, 2022.

SPEAKER_00

With her six-year relationship.

SPEAKER_01

And then got Joe Allen, then Maddie Healy.

SPEAKER_00

But Maddie Healy was not really a breakup. I don't even count that. She does. They were together for like two months. But she counts it. But she did. She was raw when she was talking about that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And after all this time, we find out it was her mom who set her up with Travis. I love that story.

SPEAKER_00

You know what the mom said? You have to do something different. Yeah. It's not working. It's not working here. And then I also loved her line of saying men will let you down or relationships will let you down, but the aerostore will not. Right. Which was an amazing line.

SPEAKER_01

In every single story that every one of her dancers, her workers, not that they're gonna put out bad press. And I was so glad I got to see Tree Payne, her publicist, but it's just unbelievable and wonderful to know that there are people like her who she's a real human, she's got issues, but she knows how to be a human. She knows how to lift her people up, she knows how to share the wealth, she knows how to just be a good person. I'm in awe of everything about her. Well, the more I watch, the more in awe I am.

SPEAKER_00

I am going to agree with you 100%. But I have heard the other side of people who say she's a fraud, she knows the business, she plays it, she's so smart. There'll be classes taught about her and her economics. She is in control of the content that is being put out there into the world.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, but guess what? I'm in awe of that because when we see all these shows going on in the press and like think about the Beckham's, right? Their whole family drama is playing out in social media specifically. That doesn't have to happen. It doesn't have to be that way. This tree pain has figured out how to market and publicize the right content all the time.

SPEAKER_00

I really, really enjoyed these last two episodes. The stories about her people, you're crying. I thought I was in tears. I know. And it's just happy. And the Travis thing is so happy, and he loves his mother. Speaking of, I don't know if it's true or not, but I heard this. That Donna Kelsey and Dorinda got into a fight on the traitors. That's what I heard. I hope it's true. Dorinda's a savage. She must have gone all 50 cents on fucking poor Donna Kelsey. Yeah, but Donna Kelsey, I think, could kick Dorinda's ass.

SPEAKER_01

She's big and she's tough. And she's had to deal with two large men her whole life. Like, I am sure that she's got some serious moves. And if she could, she'd take down Dorinda in seconds.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god, I'm looking forward to that. But anyway, we're getting off topic. So two more episodes dropped on Disney, and it was just two hours of happiness. Two hours of happiness. It really gave me a lift this week. And I was like, oh, I just loved it. I love her. So the last two episodes will drop on Christmas, which is what I'm gonna need. So thank you. Thank you, Taylor.

SPEAKER_01

And even just watching her work out that where she goes, and then I go into this, and then I go into that, and then she just sings it. Or even when she had Sabrina Carpenter and they're trying to just work out you sing this and you sing that. It's sopinter stepped in shit.

SPEAKER_00

Totally stepped in shit. I like Sabrina Carpenter, don't get me wrong. And she does write her own songs. Yeah, and I sing the songs and they're catchy and I get it. Espresso, yeah, we get it. But you stepped in shit.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, totally.

SPEAKER_00

Oh Sabrina Carpenter is no fucking Olivia Dean.

SPEAKER_01

No, not even in the same breath, not in the same airspace.

SPEAKER_00

No. But Olivia Dean didn't open for fucking Taylor Swift. I know.

SPEAKER_01

I you know what I need? I need Taylor Swift to be baking her sourdough bread with Olivia Dean playing in the kitchen, and then for her to post that onto her social media so that Olivia Dean will be bigger because Olivia Dean is so talented. I know. Not that Sabrina's not, but it's a different level.

SPEAKER_00

Speaking of talented and on the same kind of arena, Ariana Grande. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_01

First of all, it looks like she started eating. Ariana sign.

SPEAKER_00

Ariana, I know you're wearing these big dresses to avoid what people are saying. We really need you to have like a sandwich.

SPEAKER_01

In SNL, it did look like that neck chest area that I was so concerned with is a bit better. But they should have her on SNL every week because the skits were amazing.

SPEAKER_00

She, as Macaulay Culkin, oh my god. Oh my god. I don't even watch SNL, but of course I tune in when it's somebody like that that's hosting. Her monologue was great. I get Ariana Grande in fucking chair. So this is amazing. And the Bowen Yang. Oh, I was he was hysterical. He was hysterical crying. It was funny but sad. The Love is blind when it comes out of fucking the Great Bridge was great. I mean, Ariana Grande crushes it.

SPEAKER_01

Crushed. Best episode in years.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_01

Probably since her on last year.

SPEAKER_00

Do we know why Bowen is leaving?

SPEAKER_01

I can't seem to find out an answer. For some reason, and I could be making this up. Feels like something's wrong. I hope it isn't. The only thing is, I work with his podcast for my job, and they're a pain in the neck, but they're getting paid a lot of money. So maybe he's got some roles that were offered and the podcast and all these other things. I don't know. I hope so. I hope it's something like that for positive reasons as opposed to any sort of negative reason.

SPEAKER_00

But she crushed it. Ariana Grande's a fucking superstar. And similar to Emily, Phil Collins' daughter, they need to eat a fucking sandwich. I don't know what to tell people.

SPEAKER_01

Lily Collins from Emily in Paris. I don't know who's thinner, but she needs to eat. I mean, I was taken aback by how.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Especially that neck. It looks like you could see her skeleton.

SPEAKER_00

Lily Collins and Ariana Grande are still young. So when you're that young and you're that thin, it's not that big of a deal. But we'll talk about Emily in Paris in a minute because I want to stay on the music thing for a minute. Although she is music. I love Phil. But her bob is so cute. Everything I love all her hair. Right. The bob is so cute, but you look ridiculous.

SPEAKER_01

That's the problem. When you have the short hair and you're that skinny, it accentuates that, especially that neck chest. You could see the skeleton. You could see her bones. Like, take our advice. We're only consuming this holiday season. Guess what you can't see on my body? My bones.

SPEAKER_00

All right, let's have that problem. Let's stick on music. We'll go back to Emily in Paris. The Counting Crows had a documentary on HBO. And I'm surprised, to be honest with you. This is the first documentary we've ever seen on The Counting Crows. Yeah, I think so. So weird.

SPEAKER_01

I remember when August and everything else came out. August and everything after. Right. I remember when that came out. Obsessed, played it to death, knew every single word, was obsessed with the Counting Crows. And I went to see them play twice, and they were awful.

SPEAKER_00

I'm gonna tell you a few things. They were terrible. Let's go back and say that there are very few albums, and I should make a list of this one day. Maybe over the holiday break. Okay. There are very few albums that you could listen to the from the first song and Inside and Out. Inside and Out, August and Everything After is one of those albums. Yes. You just put it on and you just listen to every single song. Correct. Every single song, great. You're singing, you know the words to every song. Yeah. Amazing. Bangers. So I love them. Always will. But the documentary wasn't anything groundbreaking. But one of the things that it did for me is that I knew he was struggling with mental health. Mental health. And I knew always knew that. This really stresses how bad it was. Yeah, I didn't know it was as bad as it was. No, it's really bad. But I've seen them a lot. And when they're not good. Two times I saw them, they started playing Mr. Jones or whatever in a different way. Right. I hate that. Not the way it was put out, not the way you sing, not the way you know. And so after the second time of paying all this money to go see a band, which is ridiculous, you know, money anyway. Ed and I were like, we're not doing this anymore because I said the exact same thing. What am I going to the show if he's not going to give us what you want? What we want. Through the documentary, you learn that a lot of times when he got on stage, he was angry at the fans, angry at people screaming for Mr. Jones, angry at them not respecting the opening band and all these different reasons. And he got on and did it on purpose, which is worse. Yes, I know, but he was also struggling. I would say the past few years. My cousins have gone to see the Counting Crows, and we have all said no. And they said it's not like that anymore. It's great.

SPEAKER_01

So maybe these meds are under control and he thinks the way we want. He's good. I haven't finished the doc yet.

SPEAKER_00

He talks about it. You know, he's got a cute little girlfriend. She's 10. I started feeling a little bit better about what happened to us. So you know what I mean? Right. But I mean, the talent is unbelievable, and he has a lot of people speaking.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I don't know that I've seen him speak or be interviewed that often, but he had those long dreads back in the day. I always thought he was super cute back in the day. And I also thought that he was true rock star-ish back in the day. And then now he does not look at all like he used to look. He has no dreads. He looks like a little old Jewish guy or something. I don't know. And he's wearing yucky clothes. And he does not emote as a rock star anymore. Yeah. He comes across as just this guy playing a piano.

SPEAKER_00

But I am happy that he is back on track. You know, back on track.

SPEAKER_01

That's just not at all. And everybody combined who Adam Duritz was versus who he is now. They don't click together for me right now.

SPEAKER_00

He is in his 60s.

SPEAKER_01

I was gonna say he's our age, right? He's oh well, I'm not 60, but bite your tongue, fucker.

SPEAKER_00

He's in his 60s and she's gotta be in her late 20s.

SPEAKER_01

Oh wow. Okay. Yeah, yeah. I didn't get to the girlfriend yet.

SPEAKER_00

Cute as a button. All right, so that was on HBO. And listen, August and everything after, you're bugging if you don't listen. Seriously, go listen to it, people. It's amazing. You are bugging. All right, now we can go to Phil Collins' daughter. We're on the music trend. Okay, this Emily in Paris.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my gosh, enough. I think next season's the last season, right? It's gotta end. What do you mean? You know that for a fact? I don't know it for a fact. It needs to be over.

SPEAKER_00

It's not renewed yet. It's ridiculous. What episode are you on? I finished. Oh, I'm on episode seven. Oh, okay. I finished. So nothing makes sense anymore. But it starts off as she's in Rome. And of course, I love watching the Italian food, which she should eat more Caccia Pepe. But okay. Yeah, the storyline is the same storyline.

SPEAKER_01

And also, every single client they get, Emily has the big idea. She saves the day. And also, for some reason, in my world, with a full agency, we can't do anything in 60 seconds, but she can pull off huge events.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, it is a TV show in an hour. It's a 30-minute TV show.

SPEAKER_01

Get 42 boyfriends. The clothes are great. Everybody's clothes are great. Going back and forth with all these men, ridiculous. Sylvie, come on, man. No way. Although I give her a lot of credit. I knew she was sleeping. Um, I'm not gonna say, but I knew who she was sleeping with when that all went down. Don't ruin it for me. It's a cliffhanger. Mini driver situation, horrible. Oh, yeah. It's stupid and ridiculous. And I already kind of know how it's gonna end when it ends. It should have ended already, to be over.

SPEAKER_00

I think they'll do one more season. You know what? Because if they don't, it's it's fine with me. If the French guy, Gabrielle, Gabrielle, he had other commitments, which is why he really wasn't on this season.

SPEAKER_01

And he also wasn't liking the storyline for his character.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, okay. You know, give back your money, Gabrielle. Give back your money. Lucas Bravo. Yeah, okay, Lucas, give back your money. It is what it is. It's not making our top five, but it's enjoyable as fuck.

SPEAKER_01

I watched it in a day.

SPEAKER_00

Of course. This is what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_01

So I agree. The whole time I'm watching it, I say to myself, no, I don't even say it to myself. I say it to this to the house and the dogs. I say, This is the stupidest show I ever watched.

SPEAKER_00

I watched this watched a couple episodes of that man and baby, which a couple of our listeners said that we should watch. I actually like that guy. No, you don't like that.

SPEAKER_01

I don't like that guy.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I do. I like him.

SPEAKER_01

He's the bean guy. I mean, I'm not gonna watch that.

SPEAKER_00

No, Ed and I are watching it. It's fine.

SPEAKER_01

Uh Rich and I are deep into Landman. Well, we thought we watched Landman. Dude, you're behind. We thought we watched it, and then we started watching it saying, we started this at one point, but we never finished. So we're in season one, episode eight.

SPEAKER_00

This season of Landman is unreal. They're all amazing. I mean, Billy Bob's, I mean, there's nobody like him.

SPEAKER_01

Billy Bob looks so dirty all the time.

SPEAKER_00

They're all amazing. And now she's dating Glenn Powell, which I love. No, the daughter. The daughter. Oh, she is? Yeah. Michelle Randolph, I think. The only thing I'm sad about is John Ham, because you know I love John Ham.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but I don't know what happens to him because I'm not done with season one yet.

SPEAKER_00

Oh God, what the fuck is wrong with you?

SPEAKER_01

Listen, we thought we watched it and we didn't. We're getting caught up. Give me a Break. So we've been deep into that all week. And we really, really love it. But he's so dirty. And gosh, every day for him in this show, I don't know how he gets out of bed every day. Every day is a clusterfuck. It's so good. Season two, too. Taylor Sheridan's writing is brilliant. Always lines always. Always.

SPEAKER_00

All right. What else? So Survivor ended. Oh my god. Paul was giving me an earful, and I'm ready for season 50.

SPEAKER_01

Right. So the winner of season 49, Savannah, and this guy Rizzo, who was a great player, they're gonna be in season 50. Correct, right? And I'm so excited. That starts in February. But I have to say, this was a very good season of Survivor. There was a lot of good gameplay. It ended well. In my opinion, the right person who was available to win did win. She was a great player. Very happy with it. And I'm really excited for this all-star season. It's all people who have played before. Some of these people that are coming back have played two and three times already. So this is gonna be like a crazy situation. Plus, we the people, the fans, are in charge of a lot of the game, which is gonna be great.

SPEAKER_00

I'm gonna probably have a lot of questions, but I'm ready.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, you're gonna love it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, uh, yeah, I'm ready. Season 50. We have till February. It's a February problem.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, end of February.

SPEAKER_00

I did watch Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. I wasn't gonna watch it, but I just did. I don't know. I what is happening on that show?

SPEAKER_01

I think it's really good. Although I have to say, people, especially women, I know we've probably said this many times. How do you not know what's going on in your house? Hasn't Dory learned from all these famous women who got screwed over with money. Her name is on things, she doesn't know what's being paid for. I just don't get somebody not knowing how the finances work, especially when she's an earner, she has businesses, she's on TV collecting a paycheck. How does that work? Direct deposit right to PK's account?

SPEAKER_00

Well, look, this there's a couple of things to what you just said. I think that even though we think it's, you know, we're in 2026 or whatever the fuck this is, everybody should know. It's easy to not know, also. So I don't know. I don't agree with that statement, but what I do agree with is you are an earner. You are on a show, you are making money. You're not just the housewife taking care of the kids.

SPEAKER_01

And you're not making minimum wage, you're making millions of dollars.

SPEAKER_00

So that part I don't really understand how she doesn't know where her money is going. But she didn't really say she doesn't know where her money's going. She just said that that he came into the relationship having no money. There was no prenop. She doesn't think there are any accounts. How do you not know if you don't have 401k? This stupid fucking girl who's probably got a two in front of her date of birth is gonna tell her what to do.

SPEAKER_01

So her name is Amanda, and she's some sort of money. Get the fuck out, money, whatever. Yeah, some money coach or something. And even if Bose says, What are you talking about?

SPEAKER_00

I think she's the best one now, to be honest with you. She's good. At the end of that episode, when she starts making fun of the fucking thing, and she's like, I asked her a question. She can't answer the question. She actually answered it like a politician. The whole thing made no sense to me. Because she makes no sense. She makes no sense. She's making money making no sense.

SPEAKER_01

We're losers in the basement. I mean, I have to say, if we could make money making no sense, we should be bajillionaires because we make no sense all the time, and we're not making any money. Bajillionaires. I think producer Ed needs to refocus. Where do you make money from making no sense? Because I really want to be in on that game.

SPEAKER_00

Speaking of money, I watched the David Letterman, Jason Bateman, and I love that David Letterman is like calling him out on the amount of money his podcast makes. Yeah, it's great. He's like, I just learned about podcasts, and I'm really wondering like how you made it the hundred million dollars.

SPEAKER_01

It's unreal. You know, I think that Jason Bateman is like down low loaded because he's been working since he's 10. Nonstop working, big things, little things. He's got to be low-key gajillionaire. I don't think it's low-key. Why is it low-key? Well, he doesn't come across as this flashy guy.

SPEAKER_00

He stays home a lot. He goes to Sunday dinner with Jen. He doesn't only eat healthy food. He only eats healthy food and he plays golf, and you don't see him at the restaurants. You know what I mean? Like he doesn't go out.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But his family is super cute. I love it.

SPEAKER_01

And also he's married to Paul Anka's daughter. I know. She's got dough too.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, she definitely has dough.

SPEAKER_01

The daughter looked pretty cute, right? Oh, they're so cute.

SPEAKER_00

They're super cute. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Nice family, I think.

SPEAKER_00

It is a nice again, not groundbreaking, not David Lenimer, but I always enjoy Jason Bateman, and I thought it was good.

SPEAKER_01

I liked that Jason Bateman was so comfortable with Dave to kind of rib Dave back a little bit, you know? Yeah. I liked that.

SPEAKER_00

Well, they've known each other for a long time.

SPEAKER_01

That was a good interview, but I didn't watch the other two. It was Mr. Beast and Michael B. Jordan.

SPEAKER_00

I may watch Mr. Beast. I'm interested in that.

SPEAKER_01

Think I know anything, and I don't know if I want to know anything.

SPEAKER_00

But I may watch that. Once I saw who the lineup was, I went straight to Jason Bateman. Nat is on Netflix. Yeah. And if you haven't seen any of his interviews, what are they called again?

SPEAKER_01

My next guest needs no introduction.

SPEAKER_00

Right. If you haven't seen any of them, Steve Letterman is still really, really good at what he does.

SPEAKER_01

Unfortunately, he still has that Santa beard that drives me insane.

SPEAKER_00

I thought he looked good in this Jason Bateman.

SPEAKER_01

It was better.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

It seems like someone did something to manage it a bit better.

SPEAKER_00

When we watched him with Adam Sandler, I thought his beard was out of control. Like this one is better.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And I was laughing, but not laughing, because they obviously filmed this in the middle of the baseball season and those fucking LA won the World Series again. Yeah. Jason Bayman sits right there in the front. I like when he makes fun of his seats. Yeah, right.

SPEAKER_01

He's like, where are you sitting? Oh, front row, Dave. I've earned it.

SPEAKER_00

I can sit in the front row. I like people that are real fans.

SPEAKER_01

He's a real baseball guy.

SPEAKER_00

Like Spike Lee. You know what I mean? Like real Knicks fans. Like these are real fans. They're not fan weather fans, you know.

SPEAKER_01

It's fair weather, not fan weather.

SPEAKER_00

Fair weather fans. I hate fair, fair and fan weather fans. I actually like the word you just created. We are real fans.

SPEAKER_01

Of course. We're never fake. I don't have time to be a fake fan. What else you got? Well, I had two things. One is the Riley Keogh's eggs situation. Have you heard this story that supposedly Riley Keh, who's Elvis' great-granddaughter or granddaughter?

SPEAKER_00

Um I'm not sure.

SPEAKER_01

No, granddaughter, because Priscilla Presley's granddaughter is Riley Keh. And supposedly Riley Keogh donated her eggs to John Travolta, and John Travolta's son is really Riley Keogh's son. And all of this, there's like a lawsuit, apparently.

SPEAKER_00

But why is there a lawsuit? I don't even understand.

SPEAKER_01

I'm not sure. I've read the story a few times. I'm still not really clear. But Priscilla Presley's saying that's ridiculous. Those are not Riley Keogh's eggs. So I don't really understand that story. I think that's breaking news, and we need to learn more about it. But it's a very strange story that we need to kind of dig into. It's very strange. So there's that. And then the this was just a story that came up in my family that I know we've talked about picking up the check and paying for things in the past, but I think this is a little bit of a twist, and I don't think that we have ever discussed this topic. So my cousin has a brother, and the brother is going to visit her in. Which is also your cousin. If your cousin is this story came from my cousin, not the brother, even though they're both my cousins. Okay. So cousin, I don't want to say names. But anyway, she lives in Arizona. He lives in Maryland. He's coming to visit her to go to a Dodger game because they're from LA. Of course. And he's gonna book the hotel rooms using points. Okay. And I don't want to judge anybody's pocketbook, but I'm pretty sure Marriott points or Hilton points like that.

SPEAKER_00

Hotel points. Points.

SPEAKER_01

Whether it's Miles, whatever you can buy with points. My cousin who's using the points, I think is very well off. And not that my other cousin is not, but not to that degree.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Anyway, the cousin using the points to book the hotel rooms has asked his sister to pay him back for the hotel room, even though he used points to get the rooms. Now I think that's disgusting.

SPEAKER_00

So for example, so he got the rooms on his points, but if the room costs $250 regularly, he's asking her for $250. Correct.

SPEAKER_01

I think that is disgusting. That's just me. I don't use points, I use cash back, but many people have paid for things for me for points. I have offered, but no one has ever said pay me back. So when I'm with them or whatever, you know, maybe drinks, something like that. But I have used cash back to pay for something for somebody. And I've never said you got to give me the cash back. That's gross. This is your sister.

SPEAKER_00

It's happened to me. My friends have booked hotels on point. You know, my friend Denise does it all the time. My friend Lisa does it. Like I've offered. I've offered it. But they're not gonna take it. But they never took it. And so you pick up a dinner or you pick up drinks. Yeah, I agree. I mean, this is a sibling situation. This is siblings. Yeah, no. That's the point of Emily Post is not happy. Not happy.

SPEAKER_01

And also, prior to them going to the game, my cousin's staying with his sister in their house. They're hosting them, feeding them, driving them around. So I just don't even understand the thought process that you would say, Yeah, pay me for the hotel.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but if my brother asked me for that, I'd say no.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I said to her, I said, Oh, well, let me figure out what the going rate my guest room is, and then uh we'll figure out what's even.

SPEAKER_00

I would be like, I'm not doing that because you could have you could say that to your brother.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I don't think she knew going in. I think it was after the fact that I just thought good topic for this conversation because we talk about paying for things all the time, and this is a definite new plot twist to the hoopies.

SPEAKER_00

This is this is wrong. It's wrong. It's always funny to me, too. I know this is not the same thing, but you do this too. Everyone does this. They want to put it on their credit card because I do like to put the right they want the points and get the cash back, of course. That's what I'm saying. So I guess that's different because you're all like eating a dinner and stuff like that. It doesn't really matter. But if you're not paying for a hotel room because you got points on your whatever it is, right? I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Or you just say, You get your room and I'll get my room.

SPEAKER_00

Right. Then don't use your points.

SPEAKER_01

Don't use your points on me. Right. The whole point is I'm gonna do a solid for you. That's like the gift certificate.

SPEAKER_00

Save it for yourself then. Right, don't use it. I'm not gonna charge you. Right. What's wrong with people?

SPEAKER_01

I think we need to take all these different what to pay for situations and make a booklet or something to give everybody how to do it.

SPEAKER_00

We need one, just one podcast of what to do and pay for situations.

SPEAKER_01

Exactly.

SPEAKER_00

It's really ridiculous.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's crazy that you think we've exhausted all of these topics, and yet here's a new one. No, that's a new one. That's crazy, Tom. I know, especially with sibling to sibling. Sibling to sibling, that's disgusting to me.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I'd be like, what? Yeah. I'm sorry, cousins. I hope they don't do they listen because we may lose to it. You're insulting people left and right today.

SPEAKER_01

I can tell you for a fact that the cousin who's using the points, he does not listen. Okay. I'm not a hundred percent certain that my other cousin does listen or not, but if I'm gonna tell her to listen now. What do you got? You got a game for me? Yeah, of course I had to do a Rob Reiner game.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, it's nice.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, there's so much good stuff about his TV shows and movies. So I figured let's just why not do it? Okay. Okay. So five multiple choice questions about Rob Reiner. Ready?

SPEAKER_00

All right, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Rob Reiner, as a director, appeared as a cameo in which one of his own films? And these are the lists. When Harry met Sally, this is Spinal Tap, A Few Good Men, or Stand By Me.

SPEAKER_00

Um When Harry Met Sally. No, he wasn't in Harry Mets. Maybe Stand By Me.

SPEAKER_01

No, he appeared in This Is Spinal Tap.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, okay. I never saw This is Spinal Tap. You didn't? No. Oh, you gotta watch it. It's one of my favorite movies. It's great. Okay, I'll watch it. It's really, really funny.

SPEAKER_01

In honor of him. Okay. Which Rob Reiner film directly tackles the subject of American politics and free speech? Is it A, The American President, B, Primary Colors, C, Bullworth, or D, Wag the Dog?

SPEAKER_00

Um, The American President.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, very good. That's one of my favorite movies, too. I love that movie. That's a good one.

SPEAKER_00

And then Michael Douglas, too. Michael Douglas? Yeah. Yeah, it's a good one.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. That's the thing. Everybody's worked with Rob Reiner. Oh, that's fantastic. Yeah. Which actor appeared in Stand By Me and later reunited with Rob Reiner in The Princess Bride? Was it A, River Phoenix? B Will Wheaton? C, Corey Feldman, or D, Kiefer Sutherland?

SPEAKER_00

Wait, so they're all in Stand By Me. So it's it's which one was in Princess Bride?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Corey? Yes! Okay, because I don't think it was River.

SPEAKER_01

No.

SPEAKER_00

He's too young.

SPEAKER_01

Which film did Rob Reiner receive his first Golden Globe nomination for directing? Was it? No idea. A. Stand By Me. B, When Harry Met Sally. C, Misery, or D, Princess Bride.

SPEAKER_00

He won.

SPEAKER_01

It's his first nomination.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, nomination. Nomination. Oh, I love it all. Uh Stand by Me.

SPEAKER_01

No, When Harry Met Sally. Love Harry Met Sally. Okay. It's a good new New Year's movie to watch. Yeah, and this one is the easy one. Nothing's easy for me. No, this is easy. Rob Reiner directed which courtroom drama starring Jack Nicholson as U.S. Marine Colonel. Was it A, The Verdict? B, Crimson Tide, C, A Few Good Men, or D, Rules of Engagement.

SPEAKER_00

A few good men. You can handle the truth.

SPEAKER_01

That was the best movie ever.

SPEAKER_00

That was the best movie ever. It really is amazing if you if you do it. I haven't done this, but because of his passing, a lot's come up, like on social media. He literally was involved in everything.

SPEAKER_01

Everything. And also, I'm sure you know this, but Castle Rock, which is his company, was responsible for Seinfeld. I know. It's just it's unbelievable. Like all these things that he had his fingers in. And the people he knew and people who loved him.

SPEAKER_00

So yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I would bet you that you know how there's that six degrees of Kevin Bacon. I bet it's the same for him. Yeah, it's true.

SPEAKER_00

I just love watching Kevin Bacon sing in his kitchen, though. With the goats on the farm.

SPEAKER_01

No, it's so he was crying. Did you see his tribute to Rob Reiner? I didn't crying. Oh my gosh. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

All right. Let's try not to go all 50 cent on people this week. But I can't make any promises. In 2026, I'm going to be more like 50 Cent.

SPEAKER_01

That's your resolution to be more like 50 Cent.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly. Okay. Blow the lid off something. It's not like go to the gym or whatever. It's I'm going to be more 50 Cent. Okay. Cool. I can't wait to witness it. All right. So I finished the white and now I just have the red. Cheers to everybody to have a peaceful, happy holiday. Love you.

SPEAKER_01

Love ya.
