SPEAKER_01

This week on We Need to Talk, Bridget In season four. What is going on with Punch the Monkey and the Trader's Epic Season? Good morning. Welcome back. Happy Sunday.

SPEAKER_00

Happy March 1st. It's March. It's gonna be spring soon. Praise the fucking Lord. I have a giant calendar in my kitchen that has uh wooden pieces, and I took out the big spring square piece.

SPEAKER_01

Woohoo! Spring's coming. Oh my god, we've been off, which feels like forever. But of course, in between being off, we had a fucking apocalypse of 2026.

SPEAKER_00

Snowpocalypse, the bomb cyclone, occurred and made me stuck in Arkansas for five days. No, it grounded so many people. I agree. A lot of people were stuck because it was the end of President's Day winter break and everybody was traveling. So I was in Arkansas. I was supposed to come home last Sunday morning, and I ended up coming home Wednesday at lunchtime.

SPEAKER_01

I was in Nashville, but our flight was always on Saturday, so we actually got lucky. So I was home for the fucking apocalypse.

SPEAKER_00

Did you have so much fun in Nashville? I miss it. I have to get back. I love Nashville so much.

SPEAKER_01

I was so happy to be back. I have not been in a long time, and I just was taking it all in and loving every minute of it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's food, music. When you went, did you go with anybody who had never been there before?

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, really? Everybody. Yeah. I think my sister was there for like 24 hours for a work event. That's it.

SPEAKER_00

So did they all love it? Oh, yeah, loved it. You guys went to Husk, right?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. We did all the good things. We had sick meals and walked around. We got lucky with weather. I mean, it's just great. It's a fun place. Yeah, it's a great place. And it just makes me feel, you know, you always go. You go to Nashville. I've been to Charleston. You go to all these places. And then, you know, then you get caught up going everywhere else. But like you really gotta go back.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I know. I've been to Nashville, I think. Well, I lived there for a month, but I think I've been there like 10 times. I always love it. I always love it. I mean, now it's harder if you want to live there because it's so crowded and the infrastructure's a mess and it's gotten a lot more expensive to live there. But it's so much fun and there's so many things to do.

SPEAKER_01

We stayed in a part of town Nashville called Germantown. Yeah, I love Germantown. Right, which I've never really been to before, I don't think. But the buildings that were going up everywhere is a new building.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

And everywhere there are young people and dogs and new buildings. And I was like, oh my goodness. Even in industrial areas. Like yeah, it gave off like parts of Brooklyn vibes.

SPEAKER_00

That's yeah, there's a whole section that's gonna be like that. That's gonna be along the water from Germantown all the way back. And they're saying it's gonna be like that Williamsburg. You can feel it a little. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But great, but we're back. So much has happened. Let me raise my wine fucking glass to the men and women's hockey team. Holy shit, was this both epic, both amazing? I was lucky enough to watch the women win in Nashville. We were at an outside bar. That was so funny. The place was going crazy. They had like a big movie screen TV. And then for the men, all the bars in New York City opened at 8 a.m. 7 a.m. Yeah. So I was at a bar with everyone screaming, going nuts. Doesn't get any better. I have watched those clips. A million times. So good. I've cried every time, and it's just epic. They're so great. It was such a wonderful moment for both of them. So cheers to them.

SPEAKER_00

Cheers to them. And I saw that they were on the opening monologue last night for SNL.

SPEAKER_01

They were on the opening monologue. The Hughes brothers came out, and then Megan Keller and Hillary Knight came out and the place went nuts. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It was so great. I know. I know. It really did give us all that feeling of togetherness, like the Olympics. Well, is that I feel like the Winter Olympics bring us as a country together so often. I don't always feel that the summer ones do, but the winter ones always do. Maybe because we're all locked in our house because of snow apocalypses. This is what makes me so frustrated in life.

SPEAKER_01

This is not that type of podcast, but I will make this one statement. For one day, everyone's united, everyone's going crazy, everyone's having the best time. And then you just come back down to reality, to world that people suck, and here we are. Great, amazing. And yes, you mentioned they were on SNL, and so was our boy Connor. He was the host of SNL. And I watched the monologue and I watched a couple of clips. He's so cute. So cute. And he said in the monologue, I was a waiter. Yes. Six months ago. But not to say that he wasn't trying to be an actor. Like he was his whole life. So does he deserve this? Yes. But the reality is he does say it.

SPEAKER_00

It's like I recognize it six months ago I was a waiter. When I heard he was gonna host, I thought he was gonna come out and do his monologue with the Russian accent. I wish he did. And then shock everybody because so many people did not realize that he wasn't Russian. I know. And did you see that you could rent the cottage?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. The cottage is on Airbnb. A friend of mine actually looked it up and it's not expensive. She was saying it's two and change in Canadian dollars, which equates like, I don't know, maybe it's like $170 for us. $170 or $180 for that huge house. Not bad. Oh my god, you could it costs you nothing.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I think it's really, really cold where that cottage is located. I don't care. I think I gotta go. Wouldn't it that be a great girls' trip? I could see like a lot of girls just going to the cottage. I'm sure people are gonna go.

SPEAKER_01

And then speaking of the Olympics, we of course at Johnny and what's her name? Oh, Johnny is Johnny.

SPEAKER_00

We are in Tara Lipinski.

SPEAKER_01

They were narrating, which was amazing.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, they were doing the ice skating. Yes, and we also were watching them on the traders and then on the reunion for the traders, which we'll get to, but they were at the Olympics on screen on video. I just want to understand how he does his hair. I really want to understand how that goes on. It's really a process.

SPEAKER_01

He's Queen Charlotte. Yeah, but we're back. It's nice to be off for a week, but then I feel like it's not nice. It's so much like I don't even know what I watched, didn't watch. Like, when did Punch the Monkey come out? Was it I knew about it?

SPEAKER_00

Was it two days ago?

SPEAKER_01

I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

I've been obsessed. I've discovered Punch before I went to Arkansas, but after our podcast. Yeah. For anybody out there who doesn't know who punch is, you know who didn't know what punch was?

SPEAKER_01

Last night we we bring up punch at family dinner. And at family dinner too. And who's the one person who doesn't know what punch is? Who? Producer at what? He lives under a rock, I'm telling you. But he's with you. Doesn't matter. I don't talk to him about my obsessions.

SPEAKER_00

You don't?

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_00

So you're not in your bed and watching a video going, Oh my gosh, look at this.

SPEAKER_01

No, I just watch it over and over.

SPEAKER_00

Really?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

If I see something, I show it to Rich. I have to share immediately. You don't do that?

SPEAKER_01

Well, I share with people that appreciate it. Like I'm going back and forth with our friend Gab, like a punch the mug.

SPEAKER_00

But you're doing this, you're obsessed with it, and the person next to you has no idea.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, no clue. You know what? He tells me things at least I'm not saying it's exactly 40, at least 36 hours after it happens. He tells me something. Really? Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. But he's not showing you videos, and you're not showing him videos.

SPEAKER_01

No, I'll send him things that I think uh hockey. I was totally obsessed. I watch everything from every angle, from every part of the world. So I've been sending that stuff, but no, but anyway, back to Punch.

SPEAKER_00

So Punch is a monkey in Japan. His mom abandoned him as a baby. So the people at the zoo gave him an IKEA plushie, like a stuffy. And he's been dragging that plushy stuffy thing all around his habitat because he's alone and none of the other monkeys will be friends with him. And he's getting bullied.

SPEAKER_01

And he's everybody was getting on the zoo. Like, how could they allow that to happen? But they actually have to it has to happen. It has to happen. It's part of nature. Yes, but it's so heartbreaking. But it was getting bullied to watch. I was crying. Oh no, it brings you to tears. You're screaming at your phone. Save him! Save him! Right. You're literally booking a flight to Japan.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah. And the lines to get in to see punch are insane. And of course, now another monkey has its sort of adopted punch. Yes, thank God. Thank God. And the other problem is, because I know how you are, and of course, I was gonna get one for me and for you. You can't buy the monkey.

SPEAKER_01

But let me just say this there was a there was an amount of time. I don't even know that you could get the monkey. No, it's all been a blur these last two weeks, but there was an amount of time where I didn't see once he got adopted, so you didn't see it? No, he got adopted or accepted by the other monkey. You were seeing footage of that monkey like hugging him, and everyone was happy. But then I became obsessed with where is the plushie? Where is the doll?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, right, because of the way the fit.

SPEAKER_01

Did you just leave the doll like to excite but now in recent ones he still has the doll, which makes me very happy?

SPEAKER_00

Of course, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I was gonna go save the doll. What I like I didn't know what to do.

SPEAKER_00

What Rich and I were saying was that doll has held up really well. That's the other thing. Nobody's ripped it apart. No, but these is eyeballs and everything. Ikea sent them, I don't know, hundreds of them.

SPEAKER_01

So we don't even know if it's the same one over and over.

SPEAKER_00

It's the same one. Why would Punch want one that doesn't smell like the one? No, I know.

SPEAKER_01

But I love Punch, I love the plushie. I I'm obsessed. I know. He's so, so cute. He's so cute. The videos are so good. That feels like when that story broke, it was like a month ago.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but it was probably when this show should have aired last week. It probably was around then.

SPEAKER_01

Like tell me lies feels like last year. So we didn't talk about the finale.

SPEAKER_00

Series finale, which honestly, I thought was damn good.

SPEAKER_01

So let's say this, because I know is all over our social media. When we last did our podcast, we did not know that it was the series finale.

SPEAKER_00

That's true. They dropped that information on us last minute.

SPEAKER_01

Correct. So when they dropped the show, they also dropped that the show was over.

SPEAKER_00

So our producer Which was a shock to everybody.

SPEAKER_01

Our producer did a great job putting up that it was the series finale. We didn't know this. But I was so bummed when I heard that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but the way it ended was so good.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and I have to say, even though I know everybody's watched it and probably tired of talking about it now, but it's our first time talking about it with you guys.

SPEAKER_00

I really liked the way it ended. Me too. And we kept saying, how are they gonna wrap it up? I'm not even putting the spoiler alerts down. The fact that Steven wins at the end honestly is the right thing to do. If you really think about it, it was how it was gonna be.

SPEAKER_01

Well, it's also perceived that she wins too. Like, because he thinks Steve wins. Right, but you believe it's now like I'm gonna interviews that came out said it perfectly. These are toxic people, they don't have happy endings. Correct. And that's exactly what happened. Were there some questions that maybe you didn't get answered 100%? Yes. Did you want him to want him to pay for the car accident? He never does. He wins in that accident. He wins in that, yep. Yeah, so there were certain things like that, but you have to assume that Bree's gonna be with Wrigley, that Evan loses after being the biggest dick. Diana and Peppa together. That Diana and Peppa together, that Steven just goes on to be Dickie Steven and he's got no one. Right. And she's free.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it was so good.

SPEAKER_01

And rid of these people, and rid of everybody, nobody's friends.

SPEAKER_00

Everybody starts anew.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So great series. I know there are people watching it for the first time now. It doesn't disappoint. It had to come to an end.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So, you know what? For anyone who needs a series to binge, it's three seasons, it's 26 episodes, it's Don Hulu. It's a great series to binge. I'm gonna miss them. Even though I am gonna miss them.

SPEAKER_01

I'm gonna miss them. And I have so many voids that are not being filled. Like I don't have the summer I turn pretty till 2027. He arrived where he said April of 2027. I have not. There's so many shows on right now, though. Yeah, but not like those characters that I need. I don't know. I feel like we got some good characters.

SPEAKER_00

Who's a good character that you that you're holding on to right now? What do you mean? All the Bridgerton people are back.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god. But I know I watched it all.

SPEAKER_00

And uh I may have to rewatch some parts. Wasn't this season so good? Like you didn't think it was gonna be so good because it was Cinderella-esque, but it ended up being so good, ended up being very emotional.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I think people weren't really into him, and then I wasn't originally and came into him, right? Right, because he's no Anthony, but that's the thing.

SPEAKER_00

When we had Anthony, we thought he's the only hot one, he's the only cool one, he's the only sexy one. Then we had the Colin and Penelope thing, and that was awesome, right? Yeah, I know.

SPEAKER_01

Now we have Benedict and Sophie, Sophie, and we love them too. I do love them. I became obsessed with them, and I also think that season four did a great job with other storylines as well. Yeah, I really enjoyed the Queen's storyline, the mom. Like I really kind of enjoyed uh Mrs.

SPEAKER_00

Mondrian.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, and I also loved the downstairs part. Yes, like I I love being in the world of the maids, you know.

SPEAKER_00

That's Downton Abbey for you.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and I love it's the ending scene that who's in attendance, the maids, of course, yeah. The best thing great. I loved the Penelope sex in the carriage, right? Love it, but now these two have hot sex in the bathtub, yeah, which was fucking smoking that scene. That was crazy, and she was in the bathtub for seven hours filming. I saw that. She got some fucking crazy skin rashes. Yeah, well, when you're in water that long, it's gonna happen. She got all fucked up from the hot, sexy bathtub scene.

SPEAKER_00

Can you imagine being in a bathtub for seven hours? Oh my god, it sounds terrible, actually. I don't like bass for one minute. No, exactly. Bass are disgusting to me. So the fact that she was in one and she was sort of really naked for seven hours. I then broke out and fucking hide. Yeah, because you know why? Because when you're in a tub, you're sitting in your own filth. So she's sitting in her own filth for seven hours. You think they're draining the tub every hour? No, that's not happening.

SPEAKER_01

She's laying in her own dirt. It's disgusting. I really fell in love with them, and now I'm so excited because we know it's renewed for five and six. Right. So we don't know if we're gonna get an Eloise or we're gonna go back to mom. No, not back to the mom, back to Francesca.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, there's also Gregory, there's also Hyacinth.

SPEAKER_01

I think we have time for them. It's gotta be the Eloise or Francesca.

SPEAKER_00

You know, whoever Eloise ends up with, it's gonna be a great storyline. It has to be epic. Yeah, because she hates everybody. I know I love it.

SPEAKER_01

So, as you all know, they dropped four, and then we had Olympic break, and then it picked up for the other four, and of course, I watched I watched them all right away, and I got tricked at the end.

SPEAKER_00

And people, if you haven't watched Bridgerton yet, yeah, you have to watch the last episode all the way to the end, even after the credits, you gotta watch it. It was interesting because I knew to watch it.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know how I knew, but I knew. I did not, my stepmother told me to watch it, but if I paused it, it was still six minutes left. Yes. So I was like, how could it be over at six minutes? You know?

SPEAKER_00

I think maybe that's why I knew because when I paused it, I just was like, oh, that's a long ending. What happens? And so I I hit play. But people, I don't want to ruin it for you, but if you have not watched it, yes, I will just say it.

SPEAKER_01

I didn't know how I felt going into season four with Benedict, but I knew after watching the first four, and I know now after wrapping it up that I fucking loved it.

SPEAKER_00

They have a really good way of making these guys that you're not even interested in, yeah, become interesting. Yeah. And Anthony was back for a couple of episodes.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but it was a douche when he was back. I know, but who cares? I love him. No, they were all there. I really loved it. So that was great. You're right. I do have the Bridgetton people, but now I don't. So now what? Only because we watched it so quickly. Maybe I'll go back. I got nothing else. I mean, there's nobody else that I'm attached to. I mean, I obviously am attached to the story of JFK Jr., but not attached to those people, but I'm attached to the story, of course.

SPEAKER_00

Um everybody's intrigued by it, and they're saying that Carolyn Bissett's style is now gonna be the new style. But I'm like, we lived through that style. Well, of course, I don't live through any styles, but we lived through her style once before. And she was always a style icon at that time.

SPEAKER_01

She was, and you know what? A lot of her style is things that don't go out of style. Right, she's a clay was a classic. It's the loafer, it's the jean, it's the white-tailored shirt. You know, there's a lot of those classics.

SPEAKER_00

You know what? Here's the thing that I hope does come back because in the history of shirts, I used to be the girl that did the full tuck with the blouse, and then I became the girl that untucked shirt over with a little bit of the shirt peeking out of the sweater. Then people went with the front tuck, then it was the half tuck. I've never mastered the front tuck, I've never mastered the half tuck. So if they could bring back the full shirt out with the sweater over with the little fringy shirt, that's a win for me because that's the only one I can do. The tucking has always been a problem for me. Brosing and tucking, not my strength.

SPEAKER_01

She was always so beautiful. I do love her style, and a lot of her style is like just never goes out of style. I miss the 90s. I miss looking for him all over New York City. I miss the sex in the city vibe. That was a great time to be in New York City. It really was. It really was life was good. I really mean it. The 90s was a time to run around Manhattan, and I feel really happy that I did it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and I forgot about how obsessed we were with the fight in the park scene. Oh my god, obsessed. We were obsessed. Remember, page six put all these. We didn't have the internet then, people. So when Jeff Key Jr. and Carolyn Bisek had their fight in Central Park, it was a six-page spread. It was huge. And every one of us, I remember being at work with the dog, with the paper, and Friday the dog was there, and we were looking at these pictures, going, What were they fighting about? They get so close, blah, blah, blah. Because they grabbed each other. Yes. It was so big, it was such a big deal. It was.

SPEAKER_01

I was happy to see that that Indian restaurant that they went to on their first date had a line around the block. Yeah, good.

SPEAKER_00

The other thing that I forgot about, and I guess again, my algorithm knows what's going on with me, is I forgot that the very, very famous Seinfeld episode of Master of Your Domain, that was the one where Elaine shared a cab with JFK Jr. So she lost the bet because of JFK Jr. And she would say, JFK Jr.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

People, if you guys are not Seinfeld people, there is this very, very famous episode where Jerry, George, Kramer, and Elaine bet who can be the master of their own domain the longest. And Kramer's out right away, but Elaine loses because she met JFK Jr. at the gym. So good. I am enjoying it. Again, it's not good, but it's good. His acting is terrible, but he just got discovered three weeks before they started shooting. So we gotta give him credit. So did Connor, but look how good he is. You know, one person was obviously studying harder than the other.

SPEAKER_01

So that's on Hulu, everybody. I don't know if you're watching it. Love story. Let us know if you're watching it. There's nine total episodes. So many came out. We've had six. Six. Yeah. So during our hiatus, Paradise came back.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Three episodes have dropped. I have watched two of the three. And I guess yo, what's the guy? This is the guy that did uh Sterling K. Brown. No, yes, no. The writer is the guy that wrote the other show that Sterling K. Brown was like, Yeah, this is us. Yeah, this is us.

SPEAKER_00

Dan Fogelman.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

So I guess this is his style, right? So now it's season two. You think it's going to pick up where it left off, but it's a good one. But it takes us back. And we're introduced to new characters and different peeps.

SPEAKER_00

And look, I'm into it. Okay. So before the end of the world happens, and we are in Graceland in Tennessee with a woman who dropped out of medical school. She has some issues.

SPEAKER_01

Isn't that uh what's his name's ex?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's Shailen Woodley. Shailen Woodley. Used to date Aaron Rogers. Yeah. They had it out, and now he has an imaginary wife. Yes, he's mad in real life. Yeah. But so it's Shailen Woodley, who happens to be really good in this. Yeah, she's good. So everybody's running around the world trying to find supplies and stuff. So this bunch of bikers show up in Graceland where she's hibernating, making a little bit of a life for herself after the apocalypse. So she meets this guy. We go from there. We know him from other places. Yeah, he was um his name is Thomas Doherty. He was in Tell Me Lies for like a second, but we know him, we knew him from that thing, High Fidelity. Do you remember that? Yeah, yeah. That's where we knew him from. He plays Link, he's smoking hot.

SPEAKER_01

He's he actually but yeah, the characters that they introduce are all good. Did I text you this? I feel like I was watching it during the apocalypse snowstorm. Yeah. I was like, am I watching the right thing?

SPEAKER_00

I had to go back, make sure that the beginning, at the very beginning, when you first start, and there's this whole thing going on with Graceland. I thought to myself, Am I watching the same price? Yeah. Because sometimes when you're in Hulu, it gets to the wrong show. Yes, it goes to the next one. Right. So that happens to me a lot. That happens on the cock, too. Like I'm like, what am I watching? Yes. So I had to double check in my watch show. But I was, and I understand now. Did you watch all three?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I'm all caught up. All right. So I gotta watch the last one. I'm in. I know it's gonna be. I'm not a sci-fi person. I don't know about this underground world. This show's not sci-fi. I know, but now it's getting a little technical. But it's but it's gonna be good. It's gonna be good. Sci-fi. It's gonna be good. Okay. So that now is also on Hulu. We we just talked about two Hulu shows. Season two of Paradise. I don't know how many episodes there are gonna be. And now are they gonna drop weekly? Yeah, once a week. So three are out, and then they'll drop weekly. The other thing that I was catching up on, I'm still not done. I have, I think I want I have like 15 or 20 minutes left in the whole season, is season three of the night agent, which is on Netflix. I think if you go back to the tapes and listen You hated the night agent and you said nothing happens.

SPEAKER_00

Correct. And you listen to the shit I said, it's really good and a lot happens. I did not like season two. This season's really good. But I liked all the seasons, but this season's really good.

SPEAKER_01

I have to say, I am really enjoying season three. I mean, I just kept watching it and watching it. They're our episodes.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know if you know this. Gabriel Basso, who plays Peter, the lead, he's really, really bad at talk shows. His PR people don't like to put him on talk shows because he's really bad at it. Really? So, yeah. So if you go watch any of the clips of him on Fallon or Kimmel, there's not that many. He hasn't been around on the talk show circuit because he does really badly on the shows.

SPEAKER_01

That's hilarious. Yeah. Unlike Connor and those guys from Heated Rivalry, they're fucking like they're great.

SPEAKER_00

They've been practicing their whole life to be able to do that.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god, it's amazing, right? Yeah, so comfortable. I actually will say that if you have not seen the night agent, I think season one was fine. It got me to watch season two. I wasn't into season two, but I am really enjoying season two. Yeah, season three is great. Yeah, so the night agent is on Netflix. They're at 10 episodes. Yes, they're about 55 minutes an episode. You got a spare 10 hours. We should be done with Night Agent this week.

SPEAKER_00

I'm only on episode five. Oh, yeah. Yeah, okay. It gets to catch up. Well, it's juicy right now.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's and I really love Peter. I just love him. Yeah, he's a nice boy.

SPEAKER_00

He's a nice boy.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, he's not like I'm obsessed with him. That's what I mean. I got no obsessions now. That's why I was so into punch the monkey.

SPEAKER_00

You have no obsessions now. Not the traders, nothing from the traitors.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, all of this enjoyable TV, but then like it's not.

SPEAKER_00

Rob from the traitors is not an obsession for you. He's f cute. But talk about talk show. Somebody is advising him very well on how to behave. Did you watch his season of Love Island? No, I didn't. Like, if you know this guy, this is all hilarious to me. Because what? Like in Love Island, what was he like? Was he a loser? He's just like a do-to-do. He's like a white.

SPEAKER_01

Like a doo-to-do. Like a quiet. Quiet. You think he's not smart. He's never wearing a shirt. He's hot. He's hooking up a people. This whole traitors thing was phenomenal.

SPEAKER_00

Phenomenal.

SPEAKER_01

Phenomenal.

SPEAKER_00

Best player ever. Best traitor ever. Right? So good, man. So good. And even on the reunion, his answers were great. How he played was great. This Mora, oh my god, the thickest what is she Irish? The thickest Irish accent ever. What is she? Welsh, Scottish. Where is she from? She's from like Australia. She is? No. Australians don't speak like that.

SPEAKER_01

First of all, don't make fun of her. Bless her heart. I think.

SPEAKER_00

I think. I think that's what we say now. I think the hats. How do you pack hats like that?

SPEAKER_01

She really just got screwed. She felt oh no, she is Irish.

SPEAKER_00

You're right. She's Irish.

SPEAKER_01

Never have I seen anybody be as shocked about being wrong as she felt really, really the meat, the memes of her, her face all over the internet. Oh boy.

SPEAKER_00

She was she truly was shocked. I will say that I thought. But you know, his point was I just met her three weeks ago. I'm not gonna give her the money. But people are saying it's the biggest show.

SPEAKER_01

He didn't just meet her, he knew her on Love Island. No, they're not friends. But I mean, I think that the way he conducted himself at the reunion, all of it made perfect sense. It's a game, guys. Right. It's a game. I wanted to slap Kent. She's an idiot. She's a like what are you?

SPEAKER_00

You're obviously still upset, you maniac. Yeah, it's part of the game, you dummy. But I wanted to ask your brother because I did not watch the challenge when Johnny Bananas took the money. And they're saying that this was about as shocking the final episode of a show as when Johnny Bananas did what he did at the end of the challenge when he took all the money.

SPEAKER_01

I actually went back and watched clips of it, like you know, a million times. I have to believe that it's not as epic as that. Really? Yeah, but this was something. The faithfuls were terrible. In the ends, when you look back on it, do you say that Johnny and Tara played a good game? Yeah, I actually guess they did play a good game. Rob was just unbelievable, and now Mara's gonna get a Birkin bag. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Good for her. She should get a Birkin bag. It's gonna appreciate and value way more than that 200 grand that he won. I'm sad that he has a girlfriend, although I'm happy for him because like two months. That's breaking up.

SPEAKER_01

I want them to be together, Mara and Rob.

SPEAKER_00

I think that they're gonna end up together.

SPEAKER_01

I do. They have crazy chemistry. Colton's still a fucking, I don't care what you say. I get it, Colton.

SPEAKER_00

I was not a Colton person.

SPEAKER_01

I get it. Everybody deserves a second chance, and you can turn your life around, but you're still douchey, McDouchey. Nobody likes him. And I was proud of Andy because I know there was a lot of things, there's all this stuff on all this shit that I read on the internet that couldn't say this to him. He actually leaves the reunion after somebody said something.

SPEAKER_00

To Colton? Oh, about the stalking thing.

SPEAKER_01

Well, and then he said and he he left the reunion and then like they they took it out or something. So I thought he said he made sort of a reference to that, like the point of his life. But because Lisa said I don't like your comment about hostage. Right, right. But I feel like Andy did ask. I mean, Andy's a great host. He did ask Colton. And also look at how jacked Andy is. He's so jacked. Holy cow! How does he fit that in with those kids? Yeah, I don't know, but it's great. And everybody was genuinely happy for Rob except for Candace. She's like ridiculous. I will tell you though, it was a phenomenal season. Everybody says that last season was the best. No, this season killed. I mean, I like the characters last season, so I get it. Yeah. But I really loved it. In the end, this season was amazing.

SPEAKER_00

So good, you guys. I don't know that I've seen a masterful manipulation like this. Yeah. I don't even know. Boston Robb, maybe? And Dylan Efron.

SPEAKER_01

And Boston Robb does the podcast. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And he's good at that too.

SPEAKER_01

He must have given him kudos, like how good of a game lesson to that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

What the situation with fucking Lisa getting roofied at the Abbey. You know, okay. I think Don't say something. Don't say anything. Don't say it. All I'm saying is this.

SPEAKER_00

That's fucked up. Producer Ed, I need you to produce this clip. If anybody wants to admit it. All right. Do you? Thank God. No, I don't want to say that. Thank God, but I feel like roofying is an LA thing. Do we get roofied here in New York? Yes. Does it happen that often? Yes. Yes. I don't know anybody in the history of my life that has admitted to being roofied.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, it does. And you know what's scary is that, and I don't know if this is true, it's just what I read, is that they were claiming that it's not the first time at this place. Yeah, that the Abbey is known for this. Yeah. So that I don't know why you're roofing Lisa. I don't know why you're roofing.

SPEAKER_00

Anybody roofy. Anybody, but if you're gonna roofie someone, why a 63-year-old woman with giant hoops named Lisa Renna?

SPEAKER_01

No, but what do you want from Lisa?

SPEAKER_00

Like what I don't know. I've never been one of those people that's so obsessed with making sure my drink is protected. But I also didn't grow up that way. But I remember when I first went to college. That's why that we want to bring back the 90s. Now I don't leave my drink. I mean, I never I never think about it, but I'm not I'm not a person that walks around all these places leaving drinks. No. I remember when I went to college, though, my roommate from college, Annette, her then boyfriend, now husband, Anthony, he was obsessed with making sure you are protecting your drink. And so as he would say, when you would open a can, turn the the the opening thing, the the the you know, the clicky thing that you open, what is it called? Or if you have the cup, put a mark on it, or whatever. Like you want to always make sure you're drinking from your right drink. When I grew up, nobody did any of that, and I never do it. And now I'm thinking, well, why is it keeping me?

SPEAKER_01

I'm not roofiable. I see people all the time adjust the cup. Well, like let's say you're at the or you're at a restaurant, the bar by yourself, which I do all the time, right? And I'm having a glass of wine, I have to go to the bathroom. Okay. So I see a lot of people put a napkin over the wine, whatever, but what the fuck is that doing? That's not true. Remove the napkin. That's just making you the person there know that like I'm still here. But I could still root for you. No, exactly. So I don't even do that. What do you do? Take the wine to the bathroom? You can't do that. No, like if it's that bad, I'll say it's a if I'm a friend with the bartender or something, I'll say, can you put this behind the bar?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I'll say uh running to the ladies' room. It's a whole culture of drinking things that I don't even know about this roofing thing.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's bad. But in the 90s, we were running around, not fucking caring. That's my point. Now you have to worry about everything. So another reason why Gen Z doesn't drink, because they're afraid of being roofy. Yeah, no one's roofing their fucking mocktail. Well, actually, you are roofieing their mocktail, doesn't matter. You can roofie anything. All right, so we talked about the traitors. All right, staying on reality TV. It is Survivor 50. Yes.

SPEAKER_00

And Jeff talks a lot. Okay, so let's just set the stage, people. I've watched Survivor every single season, every single episode. Why does he talk about day one? Jeff Propes is one of the best hosts of all time. He's done every episode of 50 seasons. He's never taken a break. My ears are bleeding. Kay and Ed have never watched Survivor ever. So they don't even understand the genesis of everything and how Jeff came to be and all of his slogans and what he's done. That's how he is. Okay, so you gotta get used to it. Brother Paul will probably back me up on this. Yes. He is a great host. I'm sure. And he's very invested, and you just gotta go with the flow. The thing that has made Survivor last the test of time is that there's the old way of playing and the new way of playing, and there's there were 39 days, now there's 26 days. There's all these things that didn't exist at the beginning, like idols and journeys and all these other things. So you guys are coming into a very evolved situation where now you have 24 players. We've never had 24 players before, and many of these players have not played in the new way. So there's a lot going on, plus the fans are voting on a lot of things. Yeah. It doesn't even matter because the first episode was still freaking excellent. What exactly are the fans voting on? Okay, it used to be that the players got nothing. They didn't get a machete. You had to earn every single thing. If you were starving to death, there was no rice. You'd have to go find coconuts. You couldn't find coconuts unless you had a machete. At the very beginning, now you get flint. But if you notice, people are prepared. So the fact that they know how to make fire using eyeglasses, like people know this stuff because they know that there's a chance that would get flint. Yeah, really cool. Like Rich knows how to do all this stuff. He just couldn't play because he doesn't have a good social game, but he could play to survive. He could win if it was just about survival. But there's so much to it. So there used to be you didn't get rice. There used to be you didn't get a machete. There used to be you didn't get a tarp. There were so many different things. So for now, they're voting on those things. They're also voting on is there gonna be idols? Is there not gonna be idols? Is there gonna be Exile Island? Is there not gonna be exile? Like Exile Island is new where they send people overnight by themselves. Like that's a whole part of the strategy that didn't exist. There's always been these new things every time. All right. I mean, stick with it. It's really good. And you have to admit, the first show, I get you don't love Jeff yet, but you will. But the first show was juicy.

SPEAKER_01

I'm sticking with it. I'm keeping my promise. It's Survivor 50. But I will say this after watching the first episode, I can't imagine when I'm done with the season saying, Wow, I can't wait till 51. It's not happened. All right, so a couple of other things. I know we're talking a lot. It's been what seems like a month. The last thing he told me, season two, hated season one. I liked it. Apple because you like her. Because I love Jennifer Gardner and she can do no wrong. I'm a big fan of Reese and I'm supporting Reese. But two episodes have dropped and it's fucking stupid.

SPEAKER_00

Listen, is it the best thing since iced bread? Absolutely not. But I love Jennifer Gardner. That is all I have to say. She can do no wrong in my eyes, and she is good in this. And Nikolai Costerwaldo, who I can say his name, he's in this too. I'm gonna watch the whole thing. That's all there's too. I'm gonna watch the whole thing. I didn't think it should come back. It came back, so here we are. And did you notice? I'm sure you did. Did you notice that Bailey's mom's best friend, Quinn, is from 13 going on 30? Because in real life, Jennifer Garner and that actress are very close friends. That was very close. She got her BFF a job, which was nice. That's very good. You gotta get your BFF a job. It looks like the two of them both have never had any work done, doesn't it? Like they both look really natural to me. Do you agree? She's on the run. Who can fucking tell? Did you see her on the talk shows?

SPEAKER_01

She's gonna be able to do that. Speak of work done. Fucking Denise Richards, man. Holy shit, work done. She got the ponytail facelift. I didn't see this week of Beverly Hills, but I saw last week and she wasn't she wasn't in this week's. She was on last week's.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. That divorce seems fucking nuts. Really bad. Yeah. I mean, now all of them are going through these crazy divorces. But people, if you're saving for a facelift like some people on this podcast, then I would suggest saving at least enough money to get the ponytail facelift because that's the one Chris Jenner got, and that's the one Denise Richards got, and they both look seriously insanely good.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, Chris Jenner looks ridiculous. Ridiculous. See, Denise's had so much surgery, it's like hard. But I mean, she still looks great.

SPEAKER_00

But well, I think what the ponytail facelift does is it course corrects all the bad work as well.

SPEAKER_01

She looks fucking a thousand times better than the shrinking woman. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

The shrinking woman with her horrible clothing looks terrible. Speaking of horrible clothing, you no longer could go to Tampa. Not that you were going to Tampa, but you can't go.

SPEAKER_00

Tampa only wear pajamas on the plane.

SPEAKER_01

You are banned from Tampa.

SPEAKER_00

I fucking love it. This is like my dream. This is your grandmother's voice from above.

SPEAKER_01

Sabina is so happy. You should move to Tampa. I hope they bring it to Fort Laurendale. Sabina is so happy. No Crocs. No Crocs. And now no pajamas on a plane. It's the best thing I've ever heard. No, I'm not going to Tampa. I boycott it.

SPEAKER_00

You can't. I wore pajamas to dinner last night. It was a fantastic night. That's pathetic. Don't care. Don't care.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god, that's pathetic. But you know what? I will say that that shrinking girl, ever since you said I like her. Krista Miller is her name. Ever since you said I like her shirt, I feel like she looks homeless every episode.

SPEAKER_00

Well, now, of course, this week her clothes were terrible. Terrible! I know. Last week, too. She needs a ponytail facial really bad. Whatever happened to her is a disaster. And you know who else looks really bad? Who was just on the talk show circuit this week for Scream is Courtney Cox. You see what she's looking like? No, she looks different, weird. She did not get a ponytail facelift, but she got something. Shrinking. Oh god. Shrinking is probably one of the best written shows of all time.

SPEAKER_01

The lay Ms. scene. The lay Miz was unbelievable. Was unbelievable. And then the best part, and I know everyone's saying the same thing, it's the best part. It's when Harrison Ford says, You got you guys made this up, and they're like, Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god, that was the best. What about when he comes, he comes back to work? This was, I guess, last week, but we weren't on the air. When he comes back to work to the Raiders of the Lost Arts theme music. I mean, you cannot beat that. That was freaking phenomenal. Oh my god, it's so good. It's just so there's not one bad character, there's not one bad line. I'm gonna have one bad second. It's so good.

SPEAKER_01

I'm gonna have to watch that clip of Le Mez over and over again. Oh my god. Because I mean, you know, I love Le Mez so much. That's unbelievable. Brilliant, Brett Goldstein. Absolutely brilliant. Yeah, brilliant. Derek and Brian, they're all hilarious, and yeah, it's great. And now we got a juicy ending of this last episode.

SPEAKER_00

I know, I know, and also I just even this little nuance of there's two Dereks, that's funny, right? It's just every little thing has been thought about so much. Yeah, I agree. It's really the best. It's so good, it really does. If anybody out there is not watching Shrinking, seriously, some you need to see a doctor, something's wrong. Yeah, something's wrong. Gabby is one of the best characters ever. Yes. I freaking love it so much.

SPEAKER_01

I watched episode seven, which was last week. I did not watch episode eight of the pit, so I have to catch up. Okay. And I know Drive to Survive dropped.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, this week. And you gotta get it done before next week because whatever the first race is is next week.

SPEAKER_01

It's just so hard to get it all done, but I I I'm on it. Now, what season are we in in Drive to Survive? I think we're in season nine.

SPEAKER_00

Am I going to see Kim? No. No, because that would be this season if she shows up to any races. Right. I'm sure you don't know this, but this season of Formula One is all.

SPEAKER_01

Don't be so negative. Maybe I'll do it.

SPEAKER_00

I know it's already a disaster because there's all these rule changes to the engines, and the drivers are miserable, and the FIA is in shambles because everybody's upset with this new hybrid engine problem and it just it's really sucking. So it's gonna be very interesting to see what happens because everybody's up in arms about these new rule changes. But if Kim shows up in an F1 race, people are gonna go insane. I'm gonna go insane. Yeah. You imagine if they all go to support Lewis, probably all go to Miami and looked at those tickets.

SPEAKER_01

Not that I would even go, you know, but just for shits and giggles, we looked at the tickets. Oh my lord.

SPEAKER_00

So ridiculous.

SPEAKER_01

It's actually insanity.

SPEAKER_00

But you know what the thing is? You don't need to go to the race. You just need to be in Miami. We've been to a Formula One race. We did Montreal. And the thing about it is that wherever you sit, you don't see the rest of the world. You need to be on a yacht at Monte Carlo. That's it. And you can't see everything. So if there's a crash, you have to watch it on a video screen.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And you might as well be at home for that price. So unless you want to party in Miami during the weekend, that's a different story.

SPEAKER_01

I want to be at the same bar that Lewis and Kim are at.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, they're not at a bar. He doesn't drink, but it doesn't matter. They go, they go out to dinner. Yeah, he's a vegan. All right. I'm just saying, Lewis has a lot of rules. How's he gonna do that? And did you see that Charles Leclerc got married this week? I'm sure Kim has a lot of rules. I think she eats.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, she eats. And I think she drinks. I don't know. Nobody drinks anymore. Charles Leclerc got married. Yes, I did see that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, Dylan's girlfriend doesn't drink. She's never had alcohol in her life, ever. Not a drop. Ever. It's bizarre to me.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I asked a thousand questions about it. You did? Yeah. Probably she's great first meeting. Does she find you annoying? Probably. I was annoying. But I brought her a nice present. So she answered that. She did. I don't think she has ever met anybody like me, and I've never met anybody like her. So I think we were both intrigued by each other. I don't think many people have met people like you. Well, I have a friend that know me. Dylan even said to her, like, you know, my mom doesn't get dressed up. You know, she wears sweatpants. And she came-pajamas. Yeah. So I wore uh, you know, like a matching set to dinner. And she wore like this, it reminded me a little bit of like Julia Robertson Pretty Woman, like a brown polka dot dress and the bag, and everything was beautiful, like so well done, the matching nails, and I'm in wrist pants.

SPEAKER_01

I saw her on social media. I guess it was Valentine's Day. It was quite the outfit. She loves pink the outfit. She loves pink. Yeah. She was like Reese with a spoon.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So pretty. I mean, really, really pretty and very, you know, well organized with her clothes. Not like me. Yeah. But you know what's so funny? I bought her a gift and she bought me a gift. So I got her like a red pocketbook, and I put Kylie Cosmetics in it and a candle, and she's a runner, put socks in it. You know what she got me? Skims pajamas. Great gift.

SPEAKER_01

What was the gift exchange for?

SPEAKER_00

Like just meeting each other. Oh, it's nice. Yeah. I've been, I didn't, I didn't know she was getting me anything. I just figured I'd get her something from New York, you know. That's nice.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Emily Post would like that. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Set my own tone. Emily Post would like that. All right. What do you got? Let's do the game. It's getting late. Okay. Yeah, it is getting late.

SPEAKER_00

I got places to go. I know. I know. You gotta go. You gotta go. Okay, so I meant to bring this up earlier, but Jennifer Gardner has a company called Once Upon a Farm. And rather than selling it, she took it public on February 6th. It is now valued at $724 million. What is it? It's a organic, I guess it started out as like a child's food thing that you squeeze into your mouth. But regular adults eat it now too. And there's all different flavors of food, and it's all from the farm, and it's all organic and no pesticides and blah blah blah. I've never had it, but it is pretty big deal.

SPEAKER_01

Anyway, cheers to her.

SPEAKER_00

I looked into some other celebrity companies, whether they sold it, took it public, what the value was. I have five true and false questions for you, and they're based on that idea of the companies and the celebrities. So the first question is true or false? 50 Cent had a stake in vitamin water and sold it to Coca-Cola, and he earned $100 million from the sale. True or false. True. False. He sold it to Pepsi. I didn't know who he sold it to. I knew he had a stake. He did make a hundred million dollars. I knew he had a stake, and I didn't know who he sold it to.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so Jessica Alba has the honest company. I don't know what that is. It's like baby products and shit. She sold her company to PG for a billion dollars. Good for her. Yeah. Or is that true or false? Yeah, true or false. Say false. Correct. She did not sell it to PG. She sold it to a private equity firm for a billion dollars.

SPEAKER_01

But good for her. Yeah, really, really good. These are trick questions, by the way, because it's like, yes, it was that amount of money, but no, it wasn't the person. It's not a trick. She's tricky all the time. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Dr. Dre sold beats to Apple for three billion dollars. Great. Good for him. True or false?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, no, a beats Apple?

SPEAKER_00

I can't tell you the answer to the question. True. Yeah, true. Wait, so you're wrong. Okay. Okay. Okay. This one I know you know. George Clooney sold Casamigos to Diaggio for a billion dollars. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That is true. Yeah. Crazy, right? I love it. And then the last one, Kylie Jenner sold Kylie Cosmetics to L'Oreal for $600 million, but kept for $49 million. Oh, I was gonna say because she still has it. She has they have all if I'm telling you the truth, the company that she sold it to has 51% of the shares. That's true. It's half true because she didn't sell it to L'Oreal, she sold it to Cody. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but she still owns like a 49% of it.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. Brilliant move on her part, quite frankly.

SPEAKER_01

How funny was Lisa Rina when she said, Yeah, my lip it went out of business. And Andy's like, it did. She's like, Yeah. All right, we're back, everyone. Thank you. I hope you caught up on some of our episodes. Thanks for being patient with us. And we're back. It's going to be spring. Everybody get outside. Not today, though. It's fucking freezing. But all right. All right. Love you. Have a good day.
